Re: Ubisoft Announces My Weight Loss Coach

Interesting idea, although I don't think I would buy this game. It will be interesting to see how it sells and who buys it.

Re: X Box 360 ring of death

I remember hearing that some people had rigged their XBox 360's up to a water cooler in order to prevent this issue from occurring. Does anyone know who decided to try this out and how successful it actually turned out to be?

Re: Mississippi Law: “No Fat People Allowed”

What a ridiculous law. Shouldn't these guys actually try and come up with some laws that might actually work? I mean, what is the use of proposing a law that has no chance of passing the House when the individual who wrote it doesn't even want it to pass. Seems like a waste of tax dollars if you ask...

Re: Anti-virus Software?

Thanks muchly ^_^ How long ago did you actually do all of these tests? Dan I did this slightly more then a year ago and it's really just an aggregation of some excellent tests I found on the subject. In order to do my own tests I would have to get ahold of a fairly large and diverse virus file of 1...

Re: New Mp3/video player?

I have a Zen. And since I was very concerned about music quality, I investigated this aspect of many different players with great care. The one that sounded best to me was the Zen. And combined with a set of Sennheiser headphones (I settled for the PMX-60s - hey! I wanted a bit more bass than "...

Here is a comparison I did of some of the major free antivirus software. It is a little old and not perfect, but perhaps you will find it helpful: http://hi-techreviews.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=97&highlight=antivirus+comparison hmm, that site wants me to sign up to view that thread... :-k...

Re: Anyone seen Beerfest the movie?

I've seen it and it was really funny in a quirky way. You might even call it a cult classic, but realistically not enough people have seen it to garner that title.

Re: New Mp3/video player?

I have been very happy with my 8GB Meizu Miniplayer. It is flash based and has a very large screen for it's size. It supports a wide variety of formats as well and is rather cheap. I was able to get mine for $140 and they have a rebate on Newegg now where you can get it for $135 here . Here is a rev...

Re: Polaroid Stops Making Instant Film

The instant film was nice while it lasted, but you really can't expect them to continue producing it when it was causing them to lose money. As for professional photographers they generally use higher quality equipment and film if they haven't already switched to digital. Frankly a lot of them have....

Re: Yahoo! Finds Microsoft’s Bid Considerably Below Its Value.

I heard Yahoo was trying to make a deal with AOL in order to bump up it's market value. Either way it's going to be bought up by someone. That is only a matter of time. After all, this is business. Those that can't compete get swept aside for those who can. I just hope that a third player comes out ...

Re: WARF is suing Intel

Well who knows what's going to happen now. I'm not exactly surprised, but with a company as large as Intel it is hard to see WARF making any major victory even if they are right. This lawsuit has really interesting implications for AMD as well.

Re: ZOMG! PIRATE BAY IS DOWN!

I'm going to hazard a guess in that this has something to do with it. If not then it will just be them switching over to the distributed servers they talk about here Maybe their new servers are all in the far east, so its a combination of the two? Dan PS. Mininova is as good as tpb I can't believe ...

Re: Sacha Baron Cohen drops Borat and Ali G characters

Well with any luck he'll come out with something better. He is a character actor and comedian after all. It's what he does and like any artist he cannot stand still for too long. I for one think it's a good thing and can't wait to see what he comes up with next.

Re: PSP gets GPS accessories.

I heard about this early and it's still really mind boggling. How can they afford to do this when the absolute cheapest GPS units on the market today are over 3x that much and normal unit well over 5x the price? I do have to wonder exactly how stripped own is the device though or how bulky?

Re: Apple Launches How-To Site For New Mac Users

So do think that the Mac has Microsoft beat? I am waiting to buy a new 45mn laptop. What should I get? Apple pro or H.P. I like the fact that Apple has a 64 bit op. Vista sounds like a dud. What does the forum think? there's always 64-bit XP Pro By far the better option if you ask me, at least vs. ...

Re: September Forum Drawing - 4GB Corsair Survivor

Ah well this would be wonderful, especially with all the wear things seem to take in college. I tend to not bring my laptop around too much for fear that it might get banged up or stolen. A USB drive on the other hand is much more convenient. Anyway I'm in. Good luck to everyone.
