They use 2 fans (push & pull) with thicker RAD .... that might help abit .......
If we replace those 2 fans with higher CFM fans, the result could be much better.

Re: SMP this time
try to run the manage_credential again..
At DOS prompt, type:
cd \
cd your_smp_folder
manage_credentials /add
-- answer its questions :
username:[user_name] -- either hit ENTER or type local username then hit ENTER
Password:
Verify password:
I believe that account should have admin. right.

Re: SMP Question

I've been running SMP for awhile on both C2Q and C2D (even on my laptop)... of course with advmethod enabled From what I know, if I set the big_packets to Normal , then smp client will get all kind of WUs. Howev...

Re: 2x SMP VMs (VMWare workstation)
I guess you can .... except the work folder and 2 other files: queue.dat & unitinfo.txt.
Addition to that, you might need to edit client.txt file and change the MachineID --> I'm not sure about this cuz you run it on VM.

Re: SMP Question
Hey all, Question about smp - i've searched but have not found very much. Also there isn't much in other forums either. I've been getting stuck with the 511 pointers a lot as of late - which is killing my ppd. The 4870 finishes them in around 4 hours 20 minutes - which is quite crappy. And my cpu c...

Re: SMP Questions
Just fold with the GPU2 client. You need a quad core to run SMP and GPU2. The GPU2 client needs one core for itself. I am second to that ... You can run GPU2 client along with one CPU client (not SMP). If you use Windows Vista, you can have 2 clients for CPU and 1 for GPU ... cuz GPU2 client uses v...

Re: SMP restarting units
What I said above is only used to help you exit SMP client properly, clean and safely. Of course, when you re-launch SMP client, it WILL continue working on its current WU.
If you want to run SMP client in background (as service), you can follow the link that vbironchef posted above.

Re: SMP restarting units
To exit SMP console properly, you need to hit Ctrl + C first, then wait for few minutes so result can be written back into files. That way, you can avoid losing WU.
To check if SMP processes are stopped completely, you can use TASK MANAGER - Processes tab.

9800gtx+ won't give that much ... :D .. what I meant was 2 cards (9800gtx and 8800gs/gt) ...
9800gtx+ would give around 6.3k .... not much better than 9800gtx.

Re: Top 100 in a week?
My overclocked GTX 260 Core 216 is folding 59 seconds a step and my standard clocked GeForce GTX 280 is folding at 60-62 seconds a step... overclocking for the win! The past two days I've been running the GTX 260 Core 216 at 1500MHz shaders and I'm getting 6,720 points a day for the past two days.....

Re: Inexpensive, but quality PSU needed.
Buy.com has Corsair 750TX for sale only $104...
If you are new user, you'll get $5 off $100.
Also, $20 MIR from manufacture available.
Free 7-9 days shipping (but they shipped 2 days to me)
Total around $79
IMO, this is a good psu.

Re: GPU2 Folding with 177.41 or 177.84 drivers?
I am using both 177.35 and 177.92.
With 177.92, you would be able to do other stuff ( like watching movies, viewing images ..) which cannot be done with 177.35.
Other than that, they both are stable.
