Hey guys, just an update on my side. I did return my D975XBX2 mobo and got my money back. Bought the ASUS P5W DH Deluxe and it kicks butt, built in WiFi remote control and no boot problems. IMHO I think the developers over at Intel are in big trouble for releasing the bad axe without proper testing....

Been waiting for this update for awhile but it’s still the same issue. No fix on the HDD and still getting the SATA controller error. :? New Fixes/Features: • Added Hardware Watchdog Timer feature • Fixed display of L2 Cache in BIOS Setup for multi-core processors • Added "HPET Enable/D...

Well folks, I did it. I went out and bought the ASUS P5WD DH Deluxe and I am completely satisfied. Inter had the decency to refund me all my money for the D975XBXS so I guess I will be seeing you all in the ASUS forum. I will check back occasionally to see how you guys are doing. And update you on m...

I have just updated the new bios 12/20/06 an I still have the same problem. I Disabled the secondary SATA and still my HD LED is not working. I also get a bunch of letters on the bottom right hand corner of my boot screen that I have no idea what they are but I don’t want to see them. I also found...

Hi muell, I am the one who originally posted this problem. I have been back and forth with Intel and they tell me the same as our forum admin. However, the D975XBX does not have this problem, its only the XBX2. I am sick and tired of seeing this boot message but I really need my HD LED so I was thin...

Hey mikeyd, don’t bother. AHCI, Native and IDE is all the same problem. Unless you plan to use RAID forget it. I am having the same exact problem and Intel is aware of it. they said they would release a BIOS update and to keep checking back. The Marvel Post is really annoying. :x

Thanks Admin! My HDD LED works fine until I disable the secondary SATA ports to stop the Marvell POST. Then the light just stays on and doesn’t flicker. I have tried everything. If I cannot get a fix soon I am thinking of returning the board and getting a different one (brand) any suggestions?

Intel just released a new BIOS update on 11/27/2006 for the D975XBX2 I ran it but still no change. Marvell Controller message still displays and HDD LED is still always lit when I disable the secondary SATA in the BIOS peripherals. Is there a fix in the future?

One hand I am relieved that it’s not just me but on the other hand I am ticked because I got a lemon board. Do you think that a BIOS update can fix this issue or will the board be recalled?

My BOIS version is the latest one that was released on 11/16/2006 2330 [BX97520J.86A] I have two SATA Drives that are conceded to SATA 0 and SATA 1. (Black) I am not on RAID just running standard IDE and I am set on Native/IDE. On the first board I bought the HDD LED did not work after I disabled th...

Anthony, when you disable the secondary SATA in the BIOS does it also affect you HD Activity light? Intel told be they would release a bios update but it’s strange that the developers did not catch this problem before the released the board!

Thanks! It’s strange because I returned and the tech guy told me it did have a problem and he gave me another one and that one did the same thing. It’s only on the XBX2 because the XBX does not have this problem. Intel confirmed this and said they would release a BIOS update soon.
