Grabbed it from the MSDN site ... but couldn't install it ... and then I got distracted by MACBOOK stuff and haven't returned to it yet ...

Re: Why You Should Not Buy that $699 Flat Panel This Holiday
I agree with above ... 6 bills for a 720p is great ... and the large majority if people will get well beyond 1 year of service and enjoyment from that set. I've yet to a single 1080P HD broadcast, in Canada at least ... they are are all 720P, so I believe 1366 X 768 meets those requirements currentl...

Re: Barcelona review?
Actually I'm not interested in x38, nor 45NM ... or any of that old tech repackaged (compared to p35 or 65nm) to be honest with you ... and I'm not really interested in the Barcelona either ... but I found the V8 article to be a standout thing at legit regardless of whether anyone would ever buy one...

Re: Barcelona review?
The system used in the V8 preview was essentially a glorified workstation based on server parts ... a Barcelona preview could be delivered along the same vein ...

Re: Using an Xbox 360 HD DVD Player on a desktop PC
Just to clarify a couple things ... the A2 player does in fact play 1080i over component without HDCP: http://www.toshiba.ca/web/product.grp?lg=en§ion=2&group=505&product=6731&category= ... The link on the bottom of the post above also includes information about legal software th...

Re: Microsoft HD DVD Player for Xbox 360
The player itself has nothing but a USB cable to connect to the xbox360 or in this case computer. Its cheaper to buy AnyDVD HD then a HDCP compliant video card so I haven't bothered ... and the acceleration provided by 8400/8500/8600 and the new ATI cards while nice is not really required with a pow...

If you're planning on using an HTPC then simply use the SPDIF or optical digital (toslink) on an expensive or inexpensive audio card ... it really doesn't matter which, all you need to do is get the encoded digital out ... surely someone with a large HD tv also has a digital reciever? ... In fact mo...

Oh I'm aware of the Apple product that offers this ... just ask Digipup about my odd MAC fixation ... but I'm also aware of the absurd price it commands ... and I can just imagine the person who buys it because they think more power will make them work better ... I'm excitied about quad core becomin...

Little concerned about the validity of the entire article ... don't get me wrong its quite interesting and exciting to see the potential of future Intel chips ... but really ... in the same paragraph you say that AMD currently has nothing to counter the Intel beast, but also state that Intel hasn't ...

Yes that is the exact speeds ... I was very pleased with them ... all of this is running in a Antec Aria case with the stock 300W power supply ... without any of the sides on mind you. But the system is very .... brisk ... waiting for Vista to release officially until Microsofts icey touch gets near...
