I wouldn't worry about it. The heat transfer will be so minimal it won't matter. But just to be sure, if you can take a pic to give me a better idea of what your saying, it would help. I wasn't aware of photobucket, thanks! An update: after installing the card and getting it up to oper. temp. and t...

Received & Installed ASUS EAX1600XT Silent GC in Bad Axe
Well I received the card and installed it in slot 1. Unfortunately, with the card fully seated it DOES contact the chipset heat sink, although from what I can see / feel it appears only one, maybe two, of the "radiator" fins are actually touching the (black plastic trim around) chipset hea...

By going with the ATI card you also have an upgrade path as you could run Crossfire down the road if you ever wanted to pick up a second card. Don't know (yet) if this will ever be important, but.. As for a card hitting the factory chipset cooler it would be close... Looking at the pictures the hea...

Intel Bad Axe 2 (D975XBX2) mb & Video Card
I'm looking for a QUIET (fan-less), Vista capable PCI-E video card to plug into an Intel Bad Axe 2 (D975XBX2) motherboard. I'm not a gamer, but want to fully utilize the new graphics features that Vista has to offer. I've been looking at two cards, both Asus branded, one Nvidia & one ATI based. ...

Just finished my Bad Axe 2 build yesterday. Secondary SATA (blue) ports were disabled by choice; however, at this setting my hard drive LED is lit steady. Re-enabled blue SATA ports, now HD LED functions normally but I have an unwanted delay while the Marvel ports P.O.S.T. Board was flashed to lates...
