Re: USB sound card(?)
No experience in Midi interfaces (at least not in a long time) but Creative's USB sound cards are alright for what they do (at least the last time I checked, I just use HDMI now for everything and avoid the sound cards now).

Re: Want A New AIO Cooler
Thank you! Discounts for the win, I'm happy as long as it is under water! :D Most of the pumps are just OEM Asetek with a different brand logo/fan on it, so in the end it doesn't really matter THAT much. I intend on building a rig like above, but better, with a custom loop setup next (and all indivi...

Re: Want A New AIO Cooler
I had my 3570k @ 5.0 Ghz with an H100i doing 5-65* on all cores, but I upgraded the fans (and had them in a push pull configuration).
It's a shame I sold parted it out and sold it all to build a new rig, that was a great chip

Re: Want A New AIO Cooler
If you can look past Corsair's sketchy software (that is slowly getting better)...I recommend them versus everything I've dealt with so far (as far as AIO goes). The majority of them use the same radiators with different fans and logos on them from what I've seen.

Re: A little help with broadband Internet service providers
They are making claims of dedicated/guaranteed 10 Mbps connections versus TWC Businesses "maybe"/Shared 10 Mbps connection.
It's a win/win if you ask me as long as they get all of that PLUS get rent as well!

Enjoy ;) Make sure P/N's line up - they are cheap to replace with used parts.

Yep!ibleet wrote:Thanks again Eric. I'm swapping out the cpu today and will post my results.
I have a volt meter and multi meter, but I usually only resort to those when all else fails.
If switching out the power board and cpu gives the same results, then I know for sure its a bad system board.

Re: Inspiron 9300 challenge
Well, it's either going to be the board or cpu so check both if possible...volt meter is your friend if you're wanting to waste time if not you can find them pretty cheap now-a-days online.

Re: OCZ Freeze Thermal Compound!
You should have no problem doing so because Thermal Compound is just a liquid that has metallic flakes in it to help transfer heat from the CPU/GPU to the Heatsink so that air may draw the heat away from the initial source. I haven't tried OCZ TC yet, I've always been a fan of Artic Silver but I'll ...

Re: Inspiron 9300 challenge
Generally for me it's always been the power button daughter board or CPU - very rarely will you see the motherboard go out (most techs misdiagnose a motherboard failure in a laptop) unless something has been spilled on it OR the D/C Jack has been broken and shorted out too much. Are you getting a ch...

Re: Inspiron 9300 challenge
The pop and fizz usually means something has fried, and that can be the cpu. HOWEVER, whenever a CPU reachs a certain temperature it's supposed to shutdown before having a meltdown. Check the power button, 9300's were notorious for having the power button daughter board have the circuit traces break...

Re: Sony VAIO W Netbook?
I've used ALL of them and in the end, I hated all of them... I just couldn't get used to the smaller keyboard and 99% of them have a crappy touchpad with integrated buttons. If I had to choose ONE though I really liked the Dell and HP bigger Netbooks, not the smallest ones because of the touchpad an...

Re: Itunes issue
Crap.... What do you mean make multiple libraries? I didn't create a library, I just put the music in from MUSIC and don't bother with the iTunes library part. I really hate using iTunes as it is. I miss Anapod's ease of use. If you go to file > libraries it should be there - I haven't used iTunes ...

Re: Itunes issue
Another issue: I just bought a 3G 16GB. The price was outstanding, so I couldn't refuse it, unlike those idiots who think that a 3G 16GB is worth $500. Question, how can I use the same computer with iTunes to keep my Touch and my iPhone connected? For the most part, I use my touch for my MP3s, but ...
