I know there have been some complaints against newegg in recent months, but the majority of my orders there have been extremely fast and usual newegg quality (with that I mean good quality lol).

I've ordered so many parts from there the past couple months......

Honestly, I doubt it will be slow. Vista really seems to use your system resources to their fullest potential. The only reason I reformatted and put xp pro back in is because of major driver issues I was having and a couple other bugs. The speed in vista is excellent though.

When I had Vista installed (that didn't last long) I tried using my 512mb flash drive and it failed the test for speed. I read somewhere that they are very strict with their speed to allow the use of your flash drive in ReadyBoost. Seems like a nice feature though (when I go back to vista in 4 or so...

Get the bios here http://www.techpowerup.com/articles//other/114/4 There's a "BigToe" modded bios floating around, it's the same as the latest official but uses loose memory timings by default. That board is a pig for memory, it sets all the misc. timings VERY tight. Good luck! Well I dow...

If this is the case, I would probably go ahead and do it. If you don't have a good OCing board, an Opty would probably not work out very well for you.

Just to let anyone know who might be interested. I just got my new setup a few days ago and I could not boot with my corsair valueselect ram in the yellow dimm slots. I had to move them to the orange slots. The motherboard works fine now but I'm having trouble getting it to boot at over 245FSB with ...

Do you have the 3700+ overclocked? (the recent ones are ocing VERY well).

If anything, I would upgrade to an Opteron 165 or 170. They are cheaper, have double the cache per core vs. the x2s and overclocke Extremely well. Most will hit around 2.7 @ or near stock volts.

Why would they lower the price of an 8800gts to 200? They wouldn't, the 8600 Ultra is supposed to be released at 179.99, that will be the card to buy in that price point. I would be hesitant to buy an 8800gts with half the memory. In the high resolutions (where 8800s should be used) I would imagine ...

Does the newest official BIOS from Abit solve this problem? The newest one was released from Abit on 7/3/06.

Either way, can I get the beta bios for the AN8 32x? Thanks!
