wow. that is awesome. the only reason i can think that they didn't water cool the GPU is because ATi wants to show that you don't need to to get good performance from their cards. obviously if you went though the trouble to do that cool water setup it would be almost no trouble to cool the video too...

Congrats on breaking the 4GHz mark, even if it was just for a second it is cool! :drinkers: =D> thanks. i left it on for a few hours actually, just to see if the machine would reboot. it stayed on until i pushed it pretty hard, and never got past 45 degrees C. i guess water cooling, arctic silver, ...

thanks. i think the 9800SE will be good enough, and it's only around $130. She already has replay TV and i don't think the all in wonder would impress her that much. although i did buy an all in wonder 9600xt a little while ago but had to return it because the waterblock won't fit with that tv tuner...

got my 3.2e past 4ghz finally...
well i finally was able to get my system to boot into windows and run PCmark and 3Dmark sucessfully at 400omhz last night. I just moved and I don't have internet there yet but i will take some screen shots and post them here later. I basically followed rich's (capper) advice and used loose timings (...

Stupid Question: which card is better?
I am looking to buy a semi-decent card for my girlfriend for christmas (romantic, huh?) and I am not sure what to get. There are so many cards in the under $200 range and i just want to make sure i get the best one without going overboard, and keeping in budget at the same time. I was going to just ...

PCmark04
i know it's not a new program but i thought i would do a quick post and ask if people could post their PCmark04 scores and maybe a quick description of their computer. i will show mine. i think i need a better video card. i ran it at 3.6ghz because i was having trouble at higher speeds. i'm still wo...

i used to have the same setup until just recently. as long as you stay under 55-60 degrees under full load you should be ok. like capper said, the prescots run hot. real hot. but it's ok as long as you keep it under control. it should idle under 50. if not, you need to look into a better cooling sol...

i have tried the the hardcano 12 and the cooldrive4. both seem to go up to 12v to give me max fan speed, but there are some better ones, and i think rich has a nice one that isn't too expensive that you might want to check out. i can't remember that name right now. if you really want full speed at a...

wow. you got generic ram to OC that high? were you using air cooling or water? i think that's pretty impressive. does the RAM last a while or does it eventually burn up? are you using heatsinks on the RAM or anything special like that? thanks for sharing, that's cool. My friend just bought a bunch o...

I will have to agree with T Shirt. I have ridden one or two 1000cc sportbikes, and it seems the faster you go, the more upright and stable the bike is. If you have clear road ahead of you, you are almost assured to be ok, but if there is a log in the road, or a big piece of tire, or a car cuts you o...

all i know is that if you can afford an E55, you can afford the top of the line PSU. get a pc power and cooling 510 deluxe and you'll never need another PSU again. or at least not until BTX becomes standard. so either get a good power supply, or change your username to 89 civic or whatever car you r...
