Just a suggestion to try. I had the same problem and unfortunately no noise only that little light. Check your 12 volt connector connection from powersupply to mobo. I had to pull connector out and replug it inverse. There a protection on the system that protects the system if polarity is reverse......

I found the solution.

The boot order was starting from my old drive instead of my new raid drives..... It happens sometimes.

I have tried your valuable suggestions and my CPU is now running at 45-46 celisus and fan running at 800-810 turns.

The thermal compound was changed and i ensure the fan unit seated properly and everything is ok now.

Im not overclooking at this time using the default settings at 2.4GHZ.

You are mentionning a heat sink (is it the fan) ?

What is a thermal compound ? and cooler (the fan ?)
