D975XBX2 BIOS update problem

I am a little late installing BIOS updates but when I tried today I was presented with the following error Roughly stating: You are running an incompatable program. Please close the program and try to install again. The only thing running is NAV10.2 corp. I disabled it but got the same error. I am r...

Calling all XBX2 owners

I had a couple problems to start but it was from the BIOS version. After the next gen updates I was up and running. I do believe what was posted earlier is correct. You come here to get problems solved. I just was checking back to see it there were other problems that I needed to know about. This bo...

I think I solved my problem

I moved the system memory to another identical system and ran memtest86. Memory threw 204,800 errors. So the memory is on an RMA back today. I then tried working memory in the new system and got as far as the 94 or EB post and no further, even in maintenance mode. System does not see anything but th...

Works on My unit

I am running BIOS ver 2507. The only hiccup I see is if I start CPUz or TAT (Intels Thermal Analysis Tool) first, then sometimes IDCC (Intel Desktop Control Center) will not fire on the first or second attempt. Other than that Desktop Utils and Control Center work fine.

Are you running

I am building an identical system like mine for my son and I have had nothing but problems with this build. I found out that the memory is bad (Using memtest86) I think when I flashed the bios the bios got hosed because of the memory being bad. Anyway the system currently will not post past either a...

Thanks !

I just built my son an identical system to mine and he bought a SATA DVD burner and I was worried it might not be supported.

Thanks again.

D975XBX2 and SATA ATAPI CD/DVD RW

Anyone have any experience with using an SATA CD/DVD RW drive with their XBX2? A friend of mine just built a system using the 680i board and it works with that board but I have heard nothing about the XBX2, He did say that the SATA DVD drive burns a DVD disk in a fraction of the time. Just doing som...

Try These

Use the Intel Matrix SATA controller and plug into any port of the 4. Looking straight down on the board with (rear outputs at the top) use the bottom left controller port (that should be 0) Go into the BIOS and set the system to base defaults and disable the Marvel (secondary controller) No tweakin...

Failed boot attempt

Are you use the Intel Matrix SATA controller?
If not switch to that one.

Which version of the BIOS are you using.
If not the latest upgrade to the latest.

Let me know what you have.

COD2 is great and even better on a NEW 2.4 system.

Speed and Memory

That is a question better answered by othere right here. I asked so many questions here because I an a NOB when it comes to OC'ing. I hunted across the forms to get just simple tweaks to take my system up without posing any threat to the large amount of $$ I just spent. I work with computers all day...

Memory reset

I found that if your system gives the screen that it would not post and to go back and change settings if you leave the timing at 5,5,5,15 but set the memory to 533 then save and reboot and immediately go back into the setup and reset the timing to 4,4,4,12 it will then post. Sometimes you will need...

Using Desktop Control Center & TAT w/ VISTA

Currently neither work under the VISTA OS, at least not for me. Has anyone got them to run with VISTA? Late today I posted a Support issue with Intel about the two programs and their incompatibility with VISTA. I got a canned response but I escalated it to Tech Support. I will keep you guys informed...

CPU Cooler

I am running the Freezer 7Pro in an Antec Sonata2 case on the Intel 975xbx2 MB on top of an e6600 C2D. All steel case keeps it quiet even when I use the Intel utility to run the fans up to max. Over Clocked to 3.25 the 7Pro still keeps the chip at 58C without kicking the fans up to max. My only comp...

XFX makes a great card. I currently have the 7950GT and it is a great card. I probably will not make the drawing (I don't post that often) but their cards are tops.

Scracthy Sound

I got the Sigmatel finally working like it should. I am guessing whatever driver I had installed was not right or did not install properly. My next issue is with 2 devices not showing that they are installed properly in the device manager. I am going to post that next.

Thanks for the info
