I have vista and XP but I have had problems with Firefox in Vista. I first installed firefox in the XP and then I installed in Vista. For some reason I could not start in it Vista it gave an error about a previous install of the firefox. So I uninstalled it from Vista. It works fine in XP.

Thanks for the posts. From everything I see the dual boot works only if you have XP running. But because I have vista I just have to wipe the HDD. I hope it will be an "easy" ride.

Installing XP on Vista Machine

Is it possible to install XP on a Vista Machine without wiping the HDD. I just got a vista laptop but some programs that I would like to use can not run on the vista OS. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

I am using Windows XP professional and an ATI Radeon 9600XT 128MB video card. I installed the latest drivers for that one as well.

Yes I am using an ATI video card so like you say the 8MB are lost there I think. But the mystery of another 512MB that is not detected is what is bothering me most.
