My X2 3800 completed it's work unit with 8% of time remaining. Now it's running a 2608.

Just some wandering thoughts It has come out in various threads on the folding forum that the prefered deadlines and the final deadlines for the SMP workunits had been changed so that they were the same. As far as I can see that only applied to these two work units. I wonder if this is telling us so...

YEE GAD'S Just got a 2609 on my X2 3800@2.5Ghz. I dont' know if it will finish in time. Deadline is 4 days and by current time per frame will take 3.8 days to complete. :shock: On my two Opteron 170's there is no problem completing on time. As far as the motherboard, I imagine that Shad can give you better information on that. I run Biostar Nforce boards on all my dual cores and they are out of production now.

If you have the parts the 170 is a nice investment. It is a great little overclocker. I am able to run 2.7 Ghz on just stock cooling. The dedicated overclockers with beefed up cooling seem to be able to hit 2.9 to 3.0 quite regularly.
