D975XBX slow post

With my D975XBX it takes nearly 20 sec until the Intel Logo is displayed.
BIOS 1476
Secondary Sata Controller disabled.

Is this normal, or can I do something about it?

Thanks for the hint. With such a Tool I might get the S.M.A.R.T attributes of the drives (which is better than nothing) but not the current temperature. For a desktop board which generally runs in a uncontrolled environment (no server aircon) one needs to check the drive temp (at least after buildin...

For hard disks configured in a RAID I do not know of any way to monitor their temperature. The Windows tools don not work with Raids, Intel Matrix Storage Software does not display temps, the BIOS of my D975XBX does not show HD temps. Solution

Replacing the VIA PCI controller with a Delock PCI-Express controller
(20 Euro, JMicron JMB360 chipset) solved this problem.

When connecting a eSATA disk using a VIA VT6421 Controller the mainbord always tries to boot from the eSATA disk (error BOOTMGR missing). Changing the boot sequence in BIOS does not help.
