No doubt! I'm still trying to get a bootable Vista 64 overlock above 3.6 on my x6800.

I've encountered this a few times on my system with the fans supplied in my Thermaltake case. At first I thought it was one of my new HDs going bad. I may try swapping out those Antec fans in the near future. Another thing I've noticed is this tends to occur when I have SpeedFan running. I'm going t...

I've been running Kaspersky since I installed Vista 64 and I'm pretty impressed. In the past I've used AVG, Norton and McAfee and Kaspersky seems to run with less resources than the others. I also like the ability to customize what I want to scan. IE files, web, e-mail, etc. The scanner has picked u...

Intel Utilities - Temp difference?

Can anyone tell me why TAT shows a different CPU temp compared to the Desktop Utility Software? Seems that TAT runs about 3-4 degrees C higher than the Desktop Utility software.

John - I just finished building a computer based on this motherboard and the X6800 chip. I'll admit that I started getting cold feet after reading the various threads, but researched turned up that this board was no more or less prone for issues than the others. So I built the computer last night an...

New Computer Up and Running - Couple questions

Just wanted to pass along my thanks to all the great information on this forum. It made the whole process of getting the new computer up and running pretty smooth this afternoon/evening. After installing all the components, I installed XP SP2 and Vista 64 and the latest bad axe BIOS update. During t...

Memory, Mobo - testing and performance software

Can you provide some suggestions for software to test the performance of the new computer I'm going to build? Can these applications stress the system to verify the integrity and overall stability of the system? I was planning on running Vista 32 as the main OS, but I can install XP if that provides...

Looks like everything is set to arrive tomorrow, so despite all my complaining, Newegg is coming through as expected.

Now wish me luck. I haven't built a full computer from scratch since the 486 days! :)

thing that baffled me the most is that my parts shipped from 3 different warehouses. Memphis, Cali and New Jersey. I don't understand why all "fast moving" parts wouldn't be stored in each warehouse. It's not like I ordered anything obscure. My stuff is coming from Cali and Memphis. Stran...

How goes the battles with installing Vista 64 bit? Is this problem primarily related to the QX6700 or does it also apply to the x6800? I'm just getting my prep work out of the way for my new computer. I would like to install both Vista 32 and Vista 64 using a dual boot setup. I have no plans to use ...

Do you have plans to be a software developer after college? If so, life doesn't change all that much... Take it from a 40 something and enjoy college now.

It appears all my yacking has paid off. My order zoomed to Level 5 status. IE the order has been shipped. Not including the weekend, it took about 30 hours to go from order entry to shipping. Not bad....

So who is going to be around this weekend to answer my BIOS questions?
