Re: Stuttering/lagging BIOS on ASUS Prime B450-A
found the culprit. My Logitech C920 has bit the dust after 7 years of faithful service. Didn't have any issues in Windows at first, then my eject USB icon went haywire. Thanks for reading.

Stuttering/lagging BIOS on ASUS Prime B450-A
Hey all! Long time, no postie, but I've got a weird issue I'm relatively certain is related to the mid-range motherboard my system came with. I caved and retired the old rig I'd kept rebuilt in my Antec P-180B and snagged a great deal on a middle of the road Cyberpower rig from Best Buy, with some m...

Re: Windows 10 Recovery not seeing backup from yesterday
Seriously, do it! I realized that in creating my backup, I had assumed that the option to create a system image in addition to my data backup would both create a restorable image as well as the backup scenario I originally configured. Having repaired computers for a living for several years now, I j...

Re: Windows 10 Recovery not seeing backup from yesterday
Ah, the good old fashioned PEBKAC. I was unfamiliar with needing to boot to my windows 10 installation media in order to initiate the system image recovery. First time using the feature, so if anything else pops up or if this doesn't work I'll be back. Man, I feel slow. #-o if my hunch is right, thi...

Windows 10 Recovery not seeing backup from yesterday
Hey everyone! Been a while since I had a problem, so I figured I'd put this one to y'all. I've recently upgraded my system to a newer, less faulty motherboard. I had previously upgraded to 10 from my OEM Windows 7 Home Premium x64 license. I swapped the part, installed 7 and then upgraded to 10. Ove...

Re: Who is upgrading to Windows 10 today
I have to admit I'm tempted to install 10 on my box, however I have to nail down the cause of an intermittent BSOD first. 7 has done me right for the past few years, but I always want to play with the latest OS. Reserved upgrades for 10 are good til next year, so I'm in no huge rush. I just wish I c...

Re: So I upgraded Zeus, the PC you guys helped me build in 2
My CPU Coole r I went with the Corsair h50. Before anyone bashes it for not being a true water cooler and even beaten by a high end and cheaper air cooler. I didn't get it for that. I got it for silence and for looks. It REALLY opens up the case. It makes it look so much more modern than my old hug...

Excellent review! I've been mulling over the thought of upgrading from my trusty Linksys WRT54G and this may be the inexpensive upgrade I need.

Re: Anybody With Good Razer Experience(s)?
Razer Sphex gaming skin has been one of the better investments I've made for my PC, along with my DeathAdder v2. My mouse was damaged by my last room mate, so I'm waiting for him to reimburse me for it before I pull the trigger on a new mouse. But all that is moot since my gaming PC is OOC for the m...

I switched over to Chrome earlier this year, but I might just give this a shot. Any thoughts on comparison or are we talking apples vs oranges here?

Re: Seagate Momentus XT 750GB Hybrid Drive Review (ST750LX00
Awesome! I was a smidge underwhelmed with the original XT in both general performance and price point. Not much more expensive than the original 500GB XT and the performance increase has me thinking I might save up for one of these!

Re: Am I missing something here? hard drive?
I've had this happen to me before, and it turned out that the drive just up and completely died on me. I found the same model hard drive online and replaced the drives PCB/power and data board, and the drive worked long enough for me to clone to another HDD. Not saying that it's the best solution, b...

Hey Gables, Just so you know, the both the OEM and retail versions of Windows 7 licenses can install both 32 and 64 bit versions *IF* you have the correct install disks. The savvy individual could borrow or burn an OEM or retail copy of the 64-bit disk (you already own a license that will work for b...

Re: No video, no post, long continuous beep.... What the??
I'd be curious to see if one of your sticks of RAM might be bad. Try one at a time, and in different slots as well. If one of them is causing the computer to fail POST then you should get them sent back for replacement.

Re: Thermaltake Announces The Level 10 GT Gaming PC Case
In all honesty this fixes everything I didn't like about the first Level 10 case. It was just too tall and thin, I like my cases shorter and squatter. Most definitely hoping LR gets one of these to review!

Re: CPU/mobo for $400 recommendation
To be honest man, I'd just get a faster AM3 quad-core that's faster than a similarly priced X6 chip. Unless you're a video editor you'll probably be happier with a 3.5GHz Phenom II X4 970 for $6 more than the X6 at 2.8 GHz. Also, just my 2 cents but I would prefer the ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 board my...

Re: Dual ATI video cards for 3 monitors
DisplayPort is the next next generation of video output for graphics cards. Pwcmed is right though, that particular card cannot do Eyefinity due to the lack of a DisplayPort connection, but this Gigabyte variant meets the requirements for Eyefinity. The only thing to remember is that you'll either n...

Re: Dual ATI video cards for 3 monitors
Cheroxy, I think we're missing out on one specific piece of info here. ATI/AMD cards can do 3 monitors out, but they only have the capability starting with the 5xxx series cards. The cheapest solution is the ATI 5450 which can be found for under $40 . These cards do 3 monitors in what's called Eyefi...
