I've had next to zero problems with my bad axe with vista x64. I did have a few BSOD's relating to the multiplexing screw-up in BIOS releases after 2333... so I went back to 2333 and no probs. I don't mind my HDD LED being on all the time.. really couldn't care less.. I'd rather have all of my cores...

Just curious. Why did you go with an Nvidia card? The BadAxe is designed and certified for ATI. If you ever wanted to use two video cards you won't be able to use SLI. ATI crossfire will work.

XP 64 has been running nicely since, and despite the overclocking it is very quiet. I tried to set my mem to 4-4-4-15, but then I get all sorts of weird booting problems, so I left the mem at 5-5-5-16. I've had some difficulty oc'ing this mobo. Had the qx6700 to 3.42GHz w/ a multiplier of 12 and 28...

Bios flash 2333

I recommend dl'ing archived Bios 2333 from Intel. The iso seems to work best for me. I had no problem flashing 2333 over 2507.

bad axe bios

The bad axe bios after 2333 will not work properly with a QX6700 quad core cpu. I have tried 2431 and 2507 to no avail. Under those revisions I had to disable secondary cores in the bios to run Win Vista x64 Ultimate with a QX6700 and OCZ plat edition 800 Mhz 2 GB.
