I'm thinking about sending my XBX2 back as well. I went from XBX (no probs) to XBX2 with no fan monitoring (except CPU fan), unstable rear fan operation and Intel Desktop Utilities/Intel Desktop Control Center software not working. Once I went back to the XBX--everything came back up. That bites......

I replaced it with an Asus P5WDG2 WS-pro, its about $329 at several sites...Good luck with your search. Thanks hox for the advice. I finally decided to RMA my D975XBX2 for a P5WDG2 WS Pro after looking the board specs over. It's more expensive, but I want a stable system and I've had good luck with...

Do you have the extra video power supply connector plugged into the motherboard? If not, that's something pretty easy to try. I can't imagine the card draws much power idling, but it's something to try. That card does draw something like 125W under load according to one posting I saw on the net. Th...

Alternatives?
Some of you know I've been having a tough time with my D975XBX2 from other threads. I'm entertaining the idea of RMAing it...but what are the alternatives? I'm running a Q6600. I need SATA RAID and at least to conventional PCI slots. I've got a Gigabyte GV-RX195P256D-RH (ATI X1950) video card. I thi...

Have you tried switching the connections on the DVI outputs? Thanks werty316 for your reply. Yeah I've tried that. It boots if a monitor is connected to exactly one output (either one). It also doesn't matter whether the monitor that is connected is digital or analog (i.e. analog cable plugged into...

D975XBX2 won't reset video if two monitors plugged in?
I've got a D975XBX2 (505) and a GV-RX195P256D-RH (ATI X1950) video card. If I have monitors plugged into both DVI sockets on the video card, the mobo BIOS doesn't seem to be able to initialize video (no POST video), and boot halts. If I turn off the computer, unplug one of the two video cables, and ...

Well...
...there's something to be said for 2333 as well. For me, that was the only BIOS where I was able to actually all four cores in my Q6600 show up in Vista x64. But then I had other problems. With 2333: * RAID on Intel SATA controler + Vista x64 installed, but then wouldn't consistently boot * Floppy ...

Vista x64 woes
Hi all, I too am struggling with a Vista x64 + XBX2 @2507 + Q6600 + RAID setup. I apologize in advance for the length and excruiciating detail of this post. System: D975XBX2 (-505) mobo, Q6600 quad-core, 2x Patriot PSD21G8002 1GB PC2-6400 running default timings, Gigabyte GV-RX195P256D-RH PCIe video...
