ha, i hear that. no i put it on a low priority and go about my business. as long as a crash won't take any work with it i let it run till i'm done doing what i'm doing. no marathons here.

does it pay to overclock the xbx2

does it? i never had any luck overclocking my previous board, a asus 875p. i may have had it a 5%-10% auto overclock, but that was about all it could handle. frankly, with a 3.2 p4 i was happy, it was the burning/melting 4-pin 12v connector that led to its replacement. now i'm up to a 33% overclock ...

squeezing the clip and the plastic housing together will lift the battery slightly so you can pull it out. if the recovery bios did'nt work for you yet it probably won't. don't waste any time, call intel, 1-800 support number to oregon found on thier site. i think you punched in a series of values t...

memory errors could be related to memory voltage. my xbx2 board defaults to 1.84v. what are the voltage requirements for your memory?

Interesting, so you think it is the fan itself making the noise in response to the motherboard changing the voltage? yes and no! i concluded it was the psu making the noise, however as i tested the variety of fans i had by holding them while plugged into the mb i could feel the "sound" in...

yep, this happened to me too. i'm assuming its has something to do with reduced voltage and the fans ability to operate in such a state. of the case fans i tried, a 92mm panaflo, 92mm apc and a 80mm coolermaster only an arctic cooling af8 operated at reduced rpm without pulsating. so, i run 2 80mm c...

Q NO. 2) chipset drivers installed with the installation cd are v. 7.2.2.1007, dated 2/27/2006. now, the intel site for the d975xbx2 support links to a recent version of 8.1.1.1010 dated 11/1/2006. however, the header in the read me does not list the 975x chipset, here is a c...
