Re: 975XBX2 - Marvell RAID5 causing bootup hang
Per an email from Intel support, the marvell controller does not support a RAID5, even though the latest Marvell GUI software will let you create a RAID5. Intel claims the Marvell GUI is for all different types of Marvell raid controllers, but the raid controller on this board will only support what...

Re: 975XBX2 - Marvell RAID5 causing bootup hang
I was running the Jan 08 BIOS, but did just update to the latest, April08. No change. I wanted to setup my RAID on the marvell because that is where I had open SATA slots. I did just move my 3 drives to RAID onto the Intel Matrix ports. However, the 4th drive on there (in slot 0) is my OS drive. We ...

975XBX2 - Marvell RAID5 causing bootup hang
I've been running a 2 disk RAID0 from the Marvell raid controller on my 975XBX2 board for about 8 months with no problems. I just got a 3rd hard drive and thought I would change to a RAID5. I installed the harddrive and accessed the Marvell BIOS interface. My Marvell BIOS version is 1.1.0.34 and wou...

I just updated to the latest BIOS, since Intel emailed me and said this should fix my problem. The BIOS updated and I could run my system using the Marvel SATA ports (which was my workaround while wating for the problem to be fixed). I moved my SATA OS drive to Intel Black SATA Port 0 and disconnect...

USB Boot Hang
My BIOS is setup to enable booting from USB devices. This works fine when a bootable device (like a thumb drive) is plugged in. Yesterday, I accidently left in my firelite USB external data drive when I rebooted my machine. The system tried to boot from the USB data drive and then hung with a flashi...

Since our systems will not boot of the Intel/Black Sata ports (due to an IDE issue posted in another thread), we are using the Marvell ports with no problems. One SATA OS drive plugged into first Marvell Blue port. One SATA data drive plugged into second Marvell Blue port. No special setup required....

Thanks for the suggestion. I emailed Intel and their response was that they had no known PCI IDE card problems so it was not their problem to fix. I was surprised by the response since I was telling them about a PCI IDE problem. I was also surprised Intel was so quick to dismiss the issue, when this...

D975XBX2 - SIIG Ultra ATA card causes boot order problems
Just built a BX2 system. I have a 250g SATA OS drive plugged into black Intel Slot 0. PC boots fine into WinXP. Also have one IDE data drive and two IDE Optical drives. When IDE Drive is plugged into IDE slot on MOBO, PC boots fine from the SATA drive. When the optical drives are plugged into the MO...
