D975XBX2 and Intel C2D E7600

As an experiment, I put an Intel E7600 (3.066 GHz, 266 FSB, 11.5 Multiplier) in my good old Bad Axe 2. I did not really suspect it to work, but, it did, somewhat. Although I'm running with the latest Bios (2838), which is quite old, the CPU is obviously not known. The CPU runs with the lowest multip...

Re: Intel 975 Badaxe2 & 45nm Yorkfield

I've heard of a few people running E8400's successfully...but nobody who has tried a QX9650 yet. I just tried an E8400 on my Badaxe 2 with BIOS 2809, and it was a NOGO. Screen simply stayed black. Setting the configure jumper also did not help. I tried with 2 ram slots filled and with 4. Either way...

Re: D975XBX2 PS/2 "Keyboard Not Detected"

Your "cold boots" - do you unplug your power supply (or use a switched power socket) to turn it completly off? Otherwise, the mainboard still gets its standby power... Anyway. If I "cold boot" from standby power, I always get the keyboard not detected crap. But, if I turn it off ...

Re: AHCI and IDE

No, you don't. AHCI only applies to SATA disks, and anyway, it's only a difference with the drivers.

Re: BX2 and 4x1GB Memory

I'm running 4x 1GB Kingston ECC 800Mhz at normal 1.8V (KVR800D2E5K2). No problems.

Fujitsu-Siemens KBPC-PS2

With power cord plugged before starting the box, the keyboard always gets recognized on cold boot. Otherwise, it mostly does not.

I'm not giving up on this 8 year old thing. It always worked without flaws in a lot of different computers.

Yeah, well, they never hear of this problem because their stupid techsupport robot eats all those requests and returns some silly generic BS.

For quite some time now, I'm not having the PS2 issue anymore. Why? I pull the plug when my pc is turned off. But sure enough, today I tried shutting down the pc, and turning it back on, without having the plug pulled in between. Guess what? PS2 Keyboard not detected. At the beginning, when I had lo...

I overclocked my system by 25% without disabling watchdog. I also overclocked my 1.8 to 2.4 ghz without disabling the watchdog. But every once in a while, at cold boot it shows an error about not being able to boot with the current settings. Continuing with the current settings without entering the...

I had a black screen on cold boot once too, but with bios 2663. But a simple restart (using CTRL+ALT+DEL worked!) fixed it. Never had it again yet. I guess it's just luck.

I use manual settings, but have them set to 5-5-5-16, 1.84V (which is the same as automatic mode uses). SPD also shows 5-5-5-15 for me, but I always figured the bios is just wrong. I have set it to manual, because the system is marginally overclocked. FSB 1066 instead of default 800 (E4300 processor...

I have updated to BIOS 2663 a few days ago. Nothing new, but today, I had a bluescreen again (had that before). The bluescreen occurs while starting up the machine from complete cold state (power supply was completly plugged off). As I said, this happened before (twice). The machine would Bluescreen...

I guess this all is because it's no "normal" bios, rather an EFI bios.

I have the feeling that these PS/2 problems possibly are caused by this setting! Maybe you have time to test it with it enabled ...

This Bios fixed my issue with overclocking an E4300. Using bios 2507, I could not increase the FSB over 265 Mhz, no matter what.

HDD LED is indeed fixed, but I still have a keyboard problem ... I'm using a Microsoft wireless desktop elite set (so a PS/2 keyboard), and the first time my computer boots, my keyboard works fine until the "BA" page, then it's not detected under windows x64 ... If i reboot, it works just...
