OK, I guess I'll write something here
Well my name is Vincent, I've been here a few times now. Looks like a nice place filled with good people! Kinda difficult to find such places on the net these days. I'm a software eng. student, and I also work full-time for a local school and for my own free web hosting operation. I've been into com...

Has RAID got to the point where backup (if the RAID breaks) isn't really needed, or do you still keep all your important stuff on separate non RAIDed drives? Dan Well you should still have backups on optical media, tape media, or offline disks... In case you get hit by a virus or an intrusion. At h...

I had one CRT do that exact same thing. It was a pro CRT that cost me over 1000$. When I tried to have it repaired, the technician told me that it was inside the tube and that he couldn't do anything about it. The monitor was just over 3 years old, and out of warranty :-( If you are able to fix it, ...

I've been running Vista for over 3 months now, and I can't go back to XP. Vista's biggest changes are under the hood. Developpers get access to better APIs, network managers receive a lot of new tools to apply policies to their LAN, etc. End users are not the one who will appreciate Vista's features...

Color range, video quality, all better on a CRT. It's really sad that despite all the effort, modern screen technology still can't beat 100+ year old tube technology. I will be sad to see the CRT go, only to be replaced by a technology where it's considered fine and dandy to have a (varying) number...

It's only a gimmick... Multicore CPUs can handle the physics of any games without problem. Vista's gpu abstraction makes it possible for games to use a portion of the gpu for physics. The future shows CGPUs, where your CPU has an array of vector processing cores that are faster than any GPU today. I...
