Here's another cool trick to add custom branding on the lower right corner of the start menu. I got this about a year ago from tweakxp.com. It works great and this seemed like the right place to post this. Have you used someone's new Hewlet Packard with their OEM version of Windows XP? You've seen t...

He's totally right, although going this route will be inevitably more expensive, your smaller privately run audio stores are good places to find these. As far as amplifiers go, wattage means less than you might think. If you listen to a 30 watt NAD amplifier next to a 60 watt Sony, you would be surp...

Silly suggestion, but try running the network setup wizard and while there, a great way to double-check to make sure file sharing is turned on(locally), if you haven't already.
Make sure also that all services in services.msc, pertinent to networking are running?!!?

Best bet is to check back-issues of Consumer Reports magazine. Your local Public Library should have a few back-issues on hand with the pertinent (to you) info. I've bought lots of electronics on their advice and have never been steered wrong, especially in the entry-level or budget market. They're ...

You should be able to login to the router using your browser, using something like http://192.168.0.1/ Make sure DH...

I have a 30gb ipod video that had an issue with freezing. I had just installed a firmware update and it froze during install. Just as on the ipod, there should be a hard reboot, (assigned keys for you to hold down till it powers down). That'll at least get you out of "restore" mode. Is the...

I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 that I bought in June of 2003 and I bought a private branded 512MB memory module from a vendor in Florida and it's worked just fine.
Good luck!
