Re: eSATA isnt recognized since installing win 7 64
well i did all of that and it seems the same as before. if i have a drive in the Hard drive dock and turn the dock on the computer will recognize the drive and when i turn the dock it will dissapear from the computer, it just takes about 30 or 40 seconds to disappear. But at least the eSATA works. T...

Re: eSATA isnt recognized since installing win 7 64
i changed the Configure SATA setting in the BIOS from IDE to AHCI and after a couple of reboots the eSATA is working. but it is slow to recognize the eSATA drive and very slow to close it, but it works. i read that i was supposed to do a registry change in win 7 swithing it there to ANCI before i do...

eSATA isnt recognized since installing win 7 64
i know the D975XBX2 doesn't have eSATA availble but i have a eSATA card that worked fine with XP but now that i have installed win & 64 it isn't recognized unless i have it on and do a restart. i thought that i had to make a BIOS setting to get that to work initially but can't remember if that i...

Re: d975xbx2, nvidia 9300gs, won't insatall windows 7 64
it was the nvidia driver that was downloaded from the Windows Update site itself that caused the BSOD and all the trouble after that. i reinstalled win7 64 and DID NOT download and install that driver again and all is well... so that begs the question: what is a good and compatable video card for th...

Re: d975xbx2, nvidia 9300gs, won't insatall windows 7 64
can I put my XP drive back in and boot from it and if things go normally as they did with that drive, put the new in as a second drive and install 7 64 bit to it and then unhook the XP drive and see if i can boot and run from the 7 64 bit drive?

Re: d975xbx2, nvidia 9300gs, won't insatall windows 7 64
the only BIOS updates that i can find all have to do with RAID but right now i can't even get past a black screen with 94 at the lower right corner... i starts to install windows and once it reboots it stops at that screen and won't go past it

what's a good hard drive for running an OS on?

SATA of course, 7200rpm probably, 32mb cache i guess, desktop computer. i was thinking of something small enough for just the OS as i have other drives for storage, like maybe 500gb or 320...
