Re: Verizon Fios, Azureus, & Actiontec MI-424-WR router
I'm sorry for not replying sooner, i've been pretty busy with all sorts of things lately. In any case, i haven't done any router tweaking myself but i placed a call to Verizon FIOS tech support and asked them to check my settings, after that i asked the guy to set the optimal settings for this route...

Re: Verizon Fios, Azureus, & Actiontec MI-424-WR router
Well, i think to run 3 GPUs they'll have to take up only one slot not 2. I think that i'm better off running 2 8800GTS than 3 lesser cards. My theory is that this board is setup this way to run 2 vid cards and 1 PhysX card.

I think i'm supposed to be wireless yet i don't have a wireless card or any other wireless device in my pc. I think the reaso...

I'm also interested in this topic since i have the same exact router and Verizon FIOS service. The only difference is that i'm actually behind this router, it is hooked up to my dads pc and it lets me get on the web, that way i dont have to get my own connection and pay a monthly fee. I also have an...

A question for APC UPS/Power Chute owners
I'm using Power Chute Personal Edition with my APC back up UPS. The UPS came with a cable that goes into my PCs USB port and it feeds all the info into Power Chute, stuff like battery run time, input voltage and so on. After i installed this software it automatically was added to startup, is this so...

Yea i already got the resolution lowered to 1024x768, thats the one i use to surf the web and to read text, but i still cant get past 85 Hz. The monitor specs promise 85 Hz for 1600x1200, i usually game at that resolution but for 1024x768 i want a higher refresh rate cause i was told that higher ref...

Monitor screen refresh rate question
I have a 22" SGI c220 diamondtron CRT monitor and i have a question about refresh rates. It says in the monitor specs that it is capable of high refresh rates up 110 Hz i think, but i can't seem to get it past 85 Hz, thats as high as windows XP would let me set it, any ideas on how to get it pa...

I think my DDR2-800 RAM is running at 400Mhz???
I just put this new system together and according to CPUZ the memory is at 401Mhz, when its supposed to be 800. I don't understand why this is happening, i have memory set to auto in BIOS and its showing as DDR2-800. I'm have 2 GB of TWIN2X2048-6400C4 in dual channel. If anyone can explain why this ...

How accurate is Everest?
Guys, I just put together my first system and installed Everest, and when i go to sensor section to view system temperatures it is telling that my CPU is running at 35 C, after about 20 sec it goes to 10 C, how is that possible? Even when idling a dual core CPU cant possibly run at 10 C, other temps...

Mike, you make a very good point, that CRT monitor is a power sucker, however, i want to have it protected by a UPS as well, in your opinion how many watts should a UPS have to let me shutdown my system and monitor, i need just 5 or 6 minutes? I'm strongly leaning towards BR1300LCD, it has 780W, jus...

I would say buy the best you can, you dont need to plug in the Lcd as you can automate the shutdown procedure through the software. I use 2 1400 2u ups from APC and 2 1000 smart ups and a backup-ups 500cs for the kids system. My home server will get (tested) 45 minutes of battery time. Just because...

Interesting, i had no idea that the 110v line fluctuates like that, i have 3 computers in my house (and other appliances) and never experienced any problems. Though in the summer time i think it does drop below 110v cause everyone has their ACs on and we has blackouts in some parts of the city. As f...

Also in the product description at newegg it mentions a rechargeble battery, how do i recharge it, do they provide a recharger or i have to...

I think i need a UPS, suggestions?
I already have a surge protector, but since i'm putting together a new system which will cost me a good deal of money i'm wondering if i need an UPS for better protection during a blackout, power outage, etc. Is having a UPS better than having a surge protector? If it is i'd like to hear some UPS su...
