SDSU just beat Missouri State in an NIT basketball game... just saw it on the news this morning... Just thought I'd post a connection to San Diego and Missouri.... :) Oh, and welcome! haha...you know i think most of the country think of sdsu as south dakota state, which i guess is a school as well....

just a quick thank you to those who helped -- I ended up getting the Zalman about a week ago and it has been outstanding. Nice and quiet, and definitely cooled things off well. The sad news is that I have been working my tail off, and thus am unable to play any games -- so I haven't really been able...

I hope they asked your permission before using the quote. They should pay you for the privilege of using your reviews to sell their products :)

haha nice one black pumpkin. in all seriousness though, (to echo the above) overclocking for dummies would be sweet! i should be getting a cooling solution for my graphics card today, so i look forward to cranking up the speed. of course, that will make it run hot again, and i'll be back in the same...

Haha yeah.....the beach doesn't help get work done

SDSU has a neat campus. I just went there this weekend for the Snow Patrol concert at the open air arena -- what a great place to see a show! Hadn't been there before, really impressed with the venue.

cool, good to know. of course, i won't be trying anything until i get a cooling solution, but after that i would definitely be interested in trying some overclocking. i'll google it and see what comes up...i saw your post on OC with ATI tray tools (interesting results) so I'll read more of your old ...

Thanks Matt -- those reviews on NewEgg look great. Mind if I ask you another question? When I bought this card, according to NewEgg it was an x800 pro (OEM). Every program seems to identify it as an 800 GTO, including ATI tray tools. Is that normal? I don't even know the difference between the two, ...

i don't know if this is the right place to post it, but I think woot.com is a great (albeit random) site for any tech enthusiast...didn't see it listed. i only recently found out about it, but apparently all my friends have known about it for years  edit: i think it would qualify under "d...

Yep...I think I might just wait, after all March is only a couple of days away. If it doesn't pan out then I'll get one of the Silencers once they are restocked.

o rly? (insert owl here)...i didn't realize accelero was a better option...in that case, this should work for an x800, right? http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=125 oddly enough it looks cheaper as well, at least according to the msrp on arctic's site? edit: oof. "According to Arctic Co...

wow that was fast! thanks for the advice, that's exactly what I was looking for...I do think I'll just go with a fan kit, one of the two you mentioned. Maybe someday if it's well cooled i'll be bold enough to try unlocking and overclocking
