Re: XBX2 Freezing
Have you run any diagnostics or stress tests? For sudden freezes and reboots, I think the 3 main suspects are HDD (the HDD which has the swap file), Memory, and PSU.

Re: Intel Releases Desktop Utilities for Vista 32.
It is very disappointing to see Intel not releasing a 64-bit version of IDCC and IDU, even for their new X38 motherboard.

Re: D975XBX2 SLI drivers
No they don't. At least I haven't found or heard any. nVidia is playing tough with Intel. It looks like SLI will not be enabled even on the X38 chipset.

Re: D975BX2 now says 1066 FSB 0n there web site..?
No overclock. I don't have 667 RAM. I cannot get in the BIOS, even if I set the jumper to setup. I am giving up and returning the E6850.

Re: D975BX2 now says 1066 FSB 0n there web site..?
Yes, digital. I have not switched the input. I have 4 sticks of ram, may be I should try with just one or two? I can't think of anything else. The screen was black, and all the fans were spinning at 100%.

Great, I am out to get one.
Save your $$ on the Kingston, this is what memory I have and it works perfectly, however, it is not an overclocker... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820231098

Well, the board did not go into BIOS at all, the screen was black.
Anyway, I received the second replacement and all is good.

D975XBX2 - No POST
I wrote on this board that my XBX2 has a problem with fan control. Intel sent me a replacement, but it does not POST - the screen stays black, no HDD activity at all. Only the fans spin at full speed. I tried: - BIOS recovery - Minimal configuration - just CPU and 1 stick RAM - Removed the battery T...

Re: BADAXE 2 BIOS 2792
None of the methods worked. Fan control is stuck at enabled. Contacted Intel Support by phone. They had me perform the same troubleshooting as already advised. In addition to the fan control problem, I was never able to update the bios from within Windows using the EB.exe method. Intel is going to R...

Re: BADAXE 2 BIOS 2792
With this bios, the following settings don't work for me:
CPU Fan Control
System Fan Control
Regardless of the setting in bios [Enabled/Disabled] the fan control is always enabled. Tried F9 to load defaults, but no luck. Suggestion? Can anyone try this on their system?

Re: BADAXE 2 BIOS 2792
I did, and it went smoothly. i used the ISO method, since the EB method does not run on Vista x64. I can't notice any difference and can't give any pros and cons.

Re: D975XBX2 mystery
I think you should contact Intel and ATI. The two ATI cards you have are linked via the external connector, right? AFAIK, the new ATI cards have internal bridge just like nVidia. It might be worth it to just go in a local store with a good return policy and trying out 2 ATI HD 2900XD. BTW, I ran two...

Re: D975XBX2 mystery
The WEI is, infact, THE LOWEST of all comprising scores - look at the individual Graphics score. This goes to say that if, for example, yor CPU score is 5.3, and you upgrade your GPU and the score for the GPU is 5.9, then your WEI will still be 5.3

Re: D975XBX2 mystery
"Vista does not recognize the dual cards" - how are you checking?
Also, did u run some benchmarks with one, then with two cards and see if there is improvement in performance?

Re: D975XBX2 USB Ports and Logitech Quickcam
I was struggling with this problem, but not anymore. Initially I was installing Windows Vista x64 with all USB devices (except keyb/mouse) unplugged, and then installing them one-by-one. I then re-installed Vista with all USB devices plugged. Then I just installed drivers for each device. When Quick...
