hey guys finally got it fixed - I had to insert a 5 second delay into the boot sequence so that it had time to recognise the hard drive - thank you all for your help

Hi Sporg, Yes I did start afresh cleared all the old settings by removing the cmos battery - I cant update bios because although it recognises that my cd and hard drive are there it marks them as disabled - If only I knew where to enable them it would be great . Thanks

Hi Sparky, Thanks for your reply - unfortunately I have allready enabled IDE in the bios but it is still disabling both the IDE and optical drives - it reads them and puts them in the list but as a disabled unit

High guys - not real sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes - I recently purchased the above motherboard (secondhand) but known to be working installed it in a new case with a 550 watt power supply and hooked it all up with new cables to my ide hard drive. It boots into the setup...
