could be the CPU itself too. i got a newer E6600 from frys a few weeks ago its an L702C456 i think thats the numbers.. not 100% sure. ill have to look it up later. Using Bios F10 i have the same issue, i dont know if ths a rev 3.3 thing or not. but anything near 3.6 wont boot for me, it will post but not boot. The core temp your seeing is normal. yeah i had a 3700+ overclocked to 29gh for the last year and a half. tried to push it too far recently and fryed the motherboard. and its hard to find a good s939 board so i upgraded to the AM2, but after playing with this board, i don't think Ocing is a viable option, cant push this damn thing past...

IMHO being a dell tech, you should still attempt to fix the wifi as well and ADV them of the impending doom. Since the laptop originally came in because the WiFi was not working properly, you might of just stumbled upon the bad HD sectors, which sometimes a scan disk can fix. Anything else going on ...
