I'm using G.Skill 2x1GB DDR2-800 at 266/533 5-5-5-1 @ 2.12v. My clock speed is 333FSB with 9x multiplier of course and default voltage.

Is MCI voltage the northbridge voltage?

This is my first RAID build, so I'm a newbie at it. By running RAID 0 it speeds up write times & I believe read times as well. From all the reading I did the Intel Matrix offered best of both worlds. Can run RAID 1 (mirroring) and RAID 0 (striping) with only 2 HD's and have extra bonus of RAID ...

What RAID configurations are you using?
I'm not using RAID at all. Just have a SATA2 80GB Western Digital and a SATA2 320GB Seagate.

Well that still didn't work...until I stopped using the Enermax Chakra's eSATA/SATA cable. When I used the bracket supplied by the external SATA enclosure and plugged its SATA cable into the black ports, it worked fine.

Hmmm....at least it works now without Marvell!

Hmmm, well I am running AHCI in the BIOS and I installed Vista 32 with the Intel F6 RAID drivers. I will try the black ports again and see what happens...

How is it that some people are getting 242MB/s from HDTach?? The most I can get with my BadAxe2 and SATA drives is 50 to 65 MB/s!

I installed Vista with the Intell RAID drivers. And I have the BIOS set to AHCI.

What am I doing wrong?

If I may ask, VDDOBREV, why did you elect to put your external drive on the Intel controller instead of the Marvell red port, supposedly designed for that. I did not want to deal with Marvell, however, initially I did connect it to the red port. It caused a major OS crash (XP MCE 2005). After the s...

eSATA BadAxe2 Marvell Vista Drivers

bought an external enclosure for a backup SATA2 drive I have since my new rig comes with an external SATA port right on the top (go Enermax Chakra!) This meant stretch the cable to fit into the red Marvell SATA port on the BadAxe2 mobo. It also meant enable the Marvell RAID ports in BIOS. And ultima...

I don't think you have to change it then because it must already be enabled because you used AHCI as your install setting. Don't worry about what it says in the device manager - you know what they say? If it aint broken, don't fix it. Believe me, I have fucked around with enough stuff on my compute...

For a newcomer, you may know more than me :) I am using the CoreTemp program. When I speak of the temps, I am talking about the two core temperatures. There is also a Tjunction temperature which seems to stay at 85C all the time. Right now with a 333FSB, the two cores are at 34C with the Tjunction a...

4 just means that the windows driver is disabled. It was like that on mine also. Just change it to 0, reboot, go to bios, put sata as ahci, go to windows. Easy as that. I already have BIOS set to AHCI and it boots fine to Vista becasue I used those drivers during the install. In the Device Manager ...

E6600 Overclocking -- Where do I go from here??

I am overclocking an E6600 on a BadAxe2 mobo witha Zalman CNPS 9700 cooler in an Enermax Chakra case with G.Skill 2x1GB DDR2-800 memory. I bumped the FSB to 333, changed the memory speed to 333, left the timings at 5-5-5-12 and re-booted. All went well. No problems. The core temps are still around 3...

6. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK. This worked for me. Well, as I said, I re-installed. But when I looked at this knowledge base article, I went ot see what my reigstry setting was. It was a 4 (four), not a 0 (zero) even though i can set the BIOS to boot with AHCI! Anyone know wha...

Well I re-installed Vista and used my USB drive to provide the install with the drivers when I hit F6. The trick in all this was to get the drivers out of the .exe file from Intel since I don't have a floppy drive. Fortunately, I read that you can pass command-line arguments to the .exe and one of t...

I am using the black connectors and I have to set the BIOS to IDE or I get the BSOD.

I don't have a floppy drive so I can use the F6 option during a Vista install to install the RAID drivers.

So am I out of luck with having SATA 2 drives??

I didn't cut the wires leading to the in/off/out switch. The sodlering looks good there. I couldn't see if the soldering was bad for the red and black wires for the fan power, but something is wrong. I am using a spare 4pin power connector from the cable that is powering my DVD burner. Nada. Maybe t...

check the back of the fan to see if the wires are actally attached... I just got a case the other day with a 250mm fan and one of the fan power wires were not attached and I had to re-solder them myself. I did have to peel up the sticker on the back to see the problem though... Worth a shot Will do...

Nope. I just want SATA2 for my drives. Do I need to do anything? All the posts say I need to set the BIOS from IDE mode to RAID mode, or ACHI mode.
