Re: New Build Help, if you please? Thank you. =)

Just a quick thought.... You say you have a minute or so before it shuts down. So, next time you fire up the rig, go immediately into bios and check the temps. That will tell you if you do have a temperature problem. If the CPU temp climbs really fast, you may not have gotten the Heat Sink hung up a...

Re: Intel Matrix Raid Problems

Most generally when I see the "can't Locate NTLDR" it means the boot sequence got messed up in BIOS. If you're lucky a quick trip to BIOS and resort out the boot order will fix the problem. What happens when you plug in the original drives and do the verify thing in the Raid screen? Failin...

Re: WTF is up with BX2's?

As with most forums, folks come and leave a message only when they have a problem. Seldom does anyone post that they turned on their computer and it works fine (even though the "works fine" may be 99% of the user experience). As was noted earlier, this forum has a large number of BX2 users...

Re: D975XBX2 Marvell Controller Problem

I faced basically the same questions with 2 150gb Raptors in a Raid0 array. I opted for splitting the array and just run the 2 Raptors by themselves. To be honest I don't notice the difference except in benchmarks. I used the Raid0 array for data storage for Access databases (yes I backed them up of...

Hi Topol, I am no expert by any means but I didn't want you to feel totally ignored. Most of us have been there and those that haven't, will be. Try this (remember I am not an expert). If you can get back into the bios with the jumper in the 2/3 position, go ahead and load the defaults again (just o...

Re: A gaming keyboard that works with this board ??

Hi FullMoon,
I am assuming you have a Badaxe 2 motherboard. If so, I have been using a G15 with the Badaxe 2 for about 9 months with no issues. Vista Ulitmate 64 gave me some problems for a while. But these seem to be sorted out now.

Good Luck!

Hi Wilbur, I am doing basically what you are trying to do. I have 4 drives on the Intel controller and only raid 2 of them. My boot drive is one of the non-raid drives on the Intel controller. It sounds like the computer is trying to boot off the wrong drive(s). Change IDE in the Bios back to Raid. ...

Just out of curiosity did you folks use the Express or ISO update?

If you used the Express, was it in Vista or XP?

I am running 4gb with no issues (other than the Marvell controller, which I don't need anyway). I started with 2gb and added 2 more a month or so later. Granted my memory is rated a lot faster than I am currently pushing it. I have a cheap BYTECC SCSI card because I needed another IDE drive. No prob...

There was a long thread over on Corsair's help forum about getting the Dominator's to play nice on the Badaxe2. http://www.houseofhelp.com/forums/showt ... ht=badaxe2
as well as others.

If I remember right (which I may not be), the 2.2v was the "official" max. Actually, I was running the first pair at 1.84v for a while because Intel's BIOS and the Dominator's SPD were not playing nice together. I see they still don't. After I upgraded to BIOS 2692 I saw that the memory vo...

Very few boot problems. The boot problems I had were my own making. The only time I had problems was when I was playing with the strap and timings. The dominators don't like timings of 3,3,3,10. :) I started with a single pair and simply plugged in the second pair a few months later. Didn't have to ...

The timings I am using are just a bit down from stock. 4,4,4,15 versus 5,5,5,18. 266/800.
The CPU is set at 10X at 267.
Everything is pretty much just loafing along!

Hi, I have the same MB, CPU, and memory. Just updated to BIOS 2692 last night. No problems so far. I run the memory voltage at 2.12. I know the BIOS always tries to move it back to 1.84. I'd just get with the RAM GUY at Corsair. From what I have heard they are pretty good about RMAs. Good Luck!

Increasing the number of drives in a raid0 will definately increase performance. However, (isn't there always a "however") it also increases the possibility of problems. The more drives there are in a raid0 the greater chance of loosing everything since you now have more possible fault poi...

Hi liqnit, I know it is a pain, but you might want to do a clean install in the raid0 array. That way you know for a fact that everything is set right. Disconnect the current OS drive first. That way if things go bad you still have that as backup. That said, been there done that. I will never put th...

I believe you cannot use the Windows Bios update in Vista 64. You might do some more searching to confirm this. I am using Vista 64. But I dual boot with XP Pro. XP Pro is where I updated the Bios.

That said, I believe it may be safer to use the floppy method to update the Bios.

Good Luck!
