Re: Updated d975xbx2 BIOS - now system won't boot
It pauses on the bios splash screen at post code 5A. Any idea what it could be? Defective RAM maybe? 5A is "Resetting PATA/SATA bus and all devices" I'd unplug all your SATA/PATA devices and see if that makes any difference. I wish I had seen your reply before I took apart and rebuilt the...

Also I just noticed that the CPU LED on the motherboard is RED. Is that normal or does that mean my CPU might be the problem?

Re: Updated d975xbx2 BIOS - now system won't boot
you didn't restart it after it hung the first time for a bit did you? It's a long delay the first reboot... I've heard of people rebooting their system too early (in the middle of the flash) and had some issues. Yeah that's definitely not the issue. In fact, I called Intel yesterday and got them to...

My system rebooted and went through the motions of updating the BIOS. It said that it was updated successfully a...

Just for everybody's reference I solved my issues. The mic problem turned out to be a faulty plug on my mic for the rear mic and for the front mic, the problem was caused because the motherboard drivers don't support ac97. When I plugged the wires into an hd audio box they worked fine. Hopefully the...

Mike, I have Vista 64 installed with exactly the same set-up you have. The microphone does work in my set-up, though the level is a bit low for some reason. I also don't have any issues with start-up/shut-down either. Are you overclocking? Robert Nah I'm not overclocking. Could the problem possibly...

I have almost the exact same setup as you DaddyRabbit, though for some reason I'm having major problems with Vista. Maybe you guys have some ideas? I have the D975XBX2. E6600 CPU, NVIDIA 8800GTS, Antec P-180 case. I have 2 major problems. First, the microphone doesn't work with the onboard sound. Do...
