I updated to 1441 bios i lost some max 1:1 and 4:5 oc'ing stability versus 1334/1304 bios but i gained alot on 2:3 divider.. before 1441 bios, 2:3 only booted up at 266fsb stock, even 1% higher fsb at 2:3 resulted in no boot on 1067fsb strap. But now with 1441 bios i'm booting up and memtesting on 1...

Off the record TAT punishes CPU's and is actually blowing them up, so Intel really doesn't want enthusiasts using it. If any of our readers are using it I don't advise using it for long periods of time (anything over 30mins is long). wow didn't know that would explain my higher temps and power draw...

Yeah X6800 some seem to exhibit a 370-390fsb wall. Maybe try finding some E6600 L628B121 retail cpus and use D975XBX2

Already had one to 90C on the bad axe board that got stuck at 1.9Vcore... LOL hehe.. no amount of lapping will help that cpu :) Did you ever get word back as to what happened ? eva I was thinking I have seen this writeup before then it dawned on my at OCforums. yeah it's called share the love (knowledge) :mrgreen: DMB, you on water or air ? i guess lapping would help more for water than air but if you have to shove 1.6v into it for 3.6ghz then it's probably just a poor oc...

YUP AFAIK IHS is nickel plated copper

Some food for thought when your core 2 cpu exhibits very high cpu temps

Decided to lap my E6700 B1 IHS and it's the best lap job i've done so far compared to what I did on E6600s. E6600s didn't gain any clocks or temp reductions when lapped as the IHS was already flat. 83C in bios would be like 70C on the internal die sensor according to coretemp for badaxe :eek:
