It was actually already in the correct position according to the tiny markings on the board and in the manual...i guess i'll change it anyway jsut to check...if the heatsink and/or the cpu is improperly installed will it not start? ***EDIT---Great News...Computer has finally started...thank you ever...

Oh yea....yes i double checked and triple checked that stupid little thing. Im more than positive its in the right place.

Holy crap i just re tested the psu and the fan spins....back to the board...

I just put a piece of solder into the green and black pin on the 24 pin atx connector on the PSU. The fan does not turn on...now that means that the psu is defective right? Im pretty sure it does but i just wanna make sure before i get a rma from newegg.

it only goes in 1 way :/ i dont hear any beeping sounds nor are the fans spinning....the fan on the psu isnt doing anything

Yes i've tried that...testing voltage we got 2.51 volts coming out. I dont know what its supposed to be tho

Hi...i just built my first system Corsair 520W PSU 1 Gig Ram 7900GS Vid Card Western Digital HDD Samsung Dvd writer now i hooked everything turned it on and nothing....took off HDD, Dvd Writer....turned it on nothing....so i just hooked up the motherboard CPU,Power Switch and turned it on....nothing...
