I agree with Blue Magic about Marvell controller. Intel knows the problem but either can't not fix it or don't want to fix it.

My suggesstion is disable Marvell controller and go get another Pci Controller. That save you a lot of time and headache.
Waiting for Bios update from Intel to fix it? Probably never.
To cool your 8800GTX, get a fan blown direct to the card. I use Antec Spot Cool. It really help.

Anyway, to fix the problem I use Marvell controller for main drive ( running OS). And Intel Matrix controller for Raid.

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I have a same problem, but one thing I know for sure is X-fi cause this. If you take the X-Fi card out or set Intel Matrix controller to Raid then problem is gone.
I'm still wait the answer from Intel technical support.
