Re: CoolIT Eliminator

Wow, this is surprising considering you received an Eliminator from the CEO himself. Perhaps you are right about the stress testing as it reveals how durable the product is. My friend has a QX6700 but he uses the Freezone and has no problems (except for minor coolant leakage on the cpu block). How c...

Re: CoolIT Eliminator

If the peltiers are cool to the touch, then they are working. I would check to see if the pump is working as that could be your problem. Your temps shouldn't be in the high 50s if the Eliminator is working properly. Perhaps your power supply is forming a hot spot near the Eliminator which is causing...

Re: CoolIT Eliminator

hueydvr38: Are you running the Eliminator on the high setting? Also, try touching the blue reservoirs to see if they are cool. If they feel warm, then your tecs probably aren't working properly and you should send it back for a replacement.

Re: CoolIT Eliminator

Zertz: If you replace the stock 92mm with a 120mm high CFM fan, you can get your temps 3-5c cooler (depending on what fan you use). With my Silverstone 120mm set on high, I can get my temps about 4-5c cooler than the stock fan. You can also lower the 120mm fan speed in favor of less noise while stil...

Re: CoolIT Eliminator

How are the temps on the newest revision Apoptosis? My first replacement Eliminator (date code 0507) has been running fine on HIGH setting so far, but I don't run my system 24-7. A friend of mine has the Freezone and one day after reinstalling all his parts he discovered the coolant was leaking from...

Re: CoolIT Eliminator

Rye: I believe the two pin plug is still part of the older revisions that have issues. The new ones have a four pin plug but only utilizes two of them. The temps you posted are about right if you are running the Eliminator on the MEDIUM setting. I assume you are overclocking so you should definitely...

Re: CoolIT Eliminator

tech_freak: You should aim to get a replacement fan that does at least 63CFM (which is what the stock 92mm fan does).

The defective Eliminator I sent back used to make that noise too, but it was on and off at times. I was sure it was coming from the pump, but I'm not exactly sure what causes the noise. My v1.04 has been running smoothly for on HIGH for about two mouths now. Worst comes to worst you could just repla...

63CFM for the stock 92mm sounds about right. I actually hooked up the fan after I removed it, and was surprised at how much air it was moving. However it is a bit loud so a 120mm is the way to go if you want to reduce some noise.

Just wanted to post a quick update on my v1.04 Eliminator. I replaced the stock 92mm fan for a Silverstone FM121 120mm fan. I can achieve the same temps as the 92mm with the 120mm set on low (which is a significant noise reduction). I run my Eliminator on high with the 120mm set on high I get idle t...

They do offer cross-shipping. Just fill out the RMA form and you should get an email from someone about getting your RMA started. I think the reason why it was taking so long for most customers was that all the v1 units were experiencing this problem and they just got backed up on RMAs. I think they...

I just received my replacement Eliminator today. Took about 8 days to get here and it seems they changed a couple things. I haven't installed it yet but I did notice that they applied a different thermal paste (similar to Artic Silver Ceramique) where as it was just some normal grey paste in the fir...

Yes but we all know how useless S.M.A.R.T. is for predicting drive failure. A lot of times S.M.A.R.T. will show a error yet the drive will continue to keep working. This is evident from the study google did back in Feb (http://searchengineland.com/070219-092214.php). I'm trying to get SpinRite to de...

My 200gb WD just failed about a month ago for reasons unknown. I tried the freezer method at first it didn't work..so I let it thaw out and put it back in, windows ran checkdisk on boot and started correcting errors until it stopped on another error. After the reboot I had to manually initiate the d...

Check out this fan adapter: http://www.pcextreme.com/catalog/sku/duc-13.html It seems to be thick enough to support the Eliminator along with a 120mm fan. This along with a high cfm fan w/fan controller might yield some improvement over the 92mm stock fan. Anyone know of any other places with 92mm t...

My RMA process is going on one month now (since I requested a RMA). I received a tracking number for my replacement unit yesterday as Coolit said the replacement Eliminator units were on back-order. It is disappointing that they didn't spend more time stress testing, especially for failures such as ...

Well, my Eliminator started acting up (the temps would jump up to 60c every once in a while for no apparent reason). I have to shut down and reboot or reroute the power to get the temps back down to low 30s. So today, I decided to take a look inside and it looks like I have the same problem with the...
