Re: D975XBX2 and WinTV HRV-1600

Here is the update: The problem is caused from a conflict between the HVR-1660 and the nVidia driver in the Vista Ultimate environment (both 32 and 64 bit). nVidia said they are aware of the problem and hope to have a fix out "sometime soon." Thankfully, my old WinTV card works with the nV...

Re: D975XBX2 and WinTV HRV-1600

Not yet. Due to work I haven't had a chance to test it out and get things going. I should know more next week.

I wish my workplace would give me computer build time. :o)

I will update when I know more (or need a shoulder to cry on).

Re: D975XBX2 and WinTV HRV-1600

The video card is the EVGA 8800 GTS 320 MB, but I just took that out and upgraded using their step-up program, so I have to wait for that to get back since there is no onboard video. It was in the first PCI-E slot (i.e. closest to the processor. BTW, thanks for your patience and help. It is truly ap...

Re: D975XBX2 and WinTV HRV-1600

The tuner card is fine. It ran flawlessly on my old computer. I will try the 2 gigs route and see what happens. Just as an FYI, the problem I have been encountering is not unique. I have found several instances via Google with people experiencing the same thing, but there has been no resolution that...

Re: D975XBX2 and WinTV HRV-1600

Thanks, sygnus.

Right now, I don't have a sound card in the second PCI slot and was using the onboard sound pending a card purchase. I am still running into the same problem, but will try to follow the link you provided and see if that might give me some insight on a fix.

Thanks again!

D975XBX2 and WinTV HRV-1600

I am having a problem with my new TV tuner card. I just did a new build with the Bad Axe 2 MB, an Intel Duo Core E6600 processor, 4 Gs of RAM, and Windows Vista 32 bit. The build went flawlessly and I was very happy when Vista installed without a single problem. As a note, I did not OC and am using ...

I hope the Creative Zen works out for you and Beaker.

I just bought my other half a Creative Zen V with a 2 GB memory and it is has many more features than the iPod Shuffle at the same price.

Hopefully the higher end Zen will be a blessing for you.

I guess I am from a different camp here. Although it may only be $7 if it is a loss, I am unwilling to give eBay my money since it has left its roots and become a cheesy strip mall on the web. I personally wouldn't do it no matter how little money could be lost, but then again, I am one of those pay...

Here in Arizona, they still require you to demonstrate your parallel parking skills before issuing you a license. No one knows why since there are only about 2 parallel parking spaces left in the state. Really? I lived in Phoenix for thirteen years, and I got my driver's license in Scottsdale and I...

I was just talking about a "wrap-up" episode with friends on Saturday night.

I really hope they allow some resolution and/or direction for the series.

I remember the shut off they did on Joan of Arcadia and a last episode that all but left people out in the cold.

zomg see, some places show the 2900xt beating the 8800ultra when oc but some benches show otherwise, but does it even matter, can my antec 550watt psu handle 2900XT when oc? I think it does matter. Look at all the benchmarks and tests and take them in aggregate to see which card - overall - is perf...

This is making me rethink a possible purchase of an 8800GTS. That is a lot of heat in a case, particularly one that isn't water cooled.

The reason Jericho got cancelled is because it lost a lot of viewers. Lost lost its lease on life because it lost viewers. Heroes, as fine a show as it is, is being watched very carefully because it lost a lot of viewers. And what do those shows have in common? They decided to do the "split sea...

Yikes.

I think I may just wait two months for the price drop on the E6400. Should there not be any, one of the others look quite attractive for that amount of cash.

Oy. The joys of computers.

I buy some nice state-of-the-art components for a new build and....

Something even more state-of-the-art appears on the horizon, usually right after my Visa card is billed by Newegg.

I would definitely go with the Logitech. A friend has those in his set up and his gaming and music experience blew me away. A wonderful set of speakers. I would so love to have a set.
