Just FYI for those interested: Soonda sells a nice USB power meter for $10 on Amazon. Just a digital readout (Amps; Volts up to 10VDC) but it seems accurate and is very handy for trouble-shooting.

The casual camera megapixel race was stupid when it went beyond 5MP, insane at 9MP, and is now beyond lunacy.
