Re: DVD Ripping suggestions

DVDFab HD + Handbrake/Vidcoder/XMedia Recode (pick your poison). Handbrake and Vidcoder are essentially the same program setup a little differently. XMedia Recode requires more user input but sometimes that's a good thing. Vidcoder: http://vidcoder.codeplex.com/ XMedia Recode: http://www.xmedia-reco...

Re: Possible help for 400/500 series owners!

I haven't had a BSOD or a driver recovery message in a very long time (GTX 570 & Win 7 x64). I suspect it probably has more to do with overclocking/tweaking in your case. Start with the GPUs and set them at stock and see what happens.

Re: Corsair RM650 Power Supply Review

If you are right with your calculations it would take years for the upgraded (platinum, silver, etc) power supply to pay the difference of the upfront premium. I have a Kill-A-Watt and if memory serves me correctly it pulls on average about 150W and if I put a full load on it I think it was 380W. Th...

Re: Corsair RM650 Power Supply Review

I have a power supply efficiency question if anyone wants to throw out an answer. First off, I am terrible with math/numbers. I seem to suffer from some sort of number dyslexia that makes me transpose numbers all the time (math was the reason it took me so long to get my BBA). Anyway, here's my ques...

Re: Intel DP67BG Extreme

Check here first and see what you find. My conclusion is that Intel branded boards are rock solid at stock settings but anything beyond that it's hit or miss. https://communities.intel.com/community/tech/desktop Alternative things to try: Look for an updated USB 3.0 driver. Re: Intel NUC Kit D54250WYK Review

I'm unable to find any info. on the soundchip, which is important for HTPC usage. Can you help me? I thought this would be an easy answer. Scouring the Intel site the best I could come up with is it's a Realtek chipset. But beyond that I don't have a clue. Audio: Realtek* ALC Audio Driver for Windo...

Re: Intel NUC Kit D54250WYK Overclocking

I can almost 100% guarantee you that Foxconn made the motherboard in the NUC for Intel. From my personal results Gigbyte has been rock solid, going back to a Gigabyte KT133 board that refused to die after years of me tinkering with it. I threw it out earlier this year and it was still in perfect wor...

Re: Intel NUC Kit D54250WYK Overclocking

I would be upset if I spent a bunch of money on a NUC and some good RAM to find that it wouldn't boot. After dealing with an Intel board right now I know for a fact their BIOS engineers are pure CRAP. Another reason to pickup the Gigabyte Brix. Hell with the Brix, Gigabyte might have left the option...

Re: Intel NUC Kit D54250WYK Review

I still think the Gigabyte Brix is a better option. But I'm glad to see they updated the NUC and fixed the NIC issue. Thanks for the review. I'm considering this for a near-future build. My only gripe, along with one of yours, is no space for a 2.5" drive. I got a few laying around that would w...

The price, 140MM, customization, American company, etc... This thing is a winner in my opinion. I've been debating grabbing the X40 to replace the meh 120MM AiO I have.

I think it's more so you can run 2 in a version of NIC RAID (aka Teaming). Realtek has an app to do this but I could never get it to work with my old board.

The NVIDIA Scalable Link Interface (SLI) has been linking two or more video cards together to produce a single output since being re-introduced in 2004.
Wow... I can't believe it's been almost 10 years since they re-introduced SLI. Where has the time gone?
