I do like the P35 chipset though (as its reported to be backwards DDR2 compatible) . Well, technically the chipset is compatible with either DDR2 or DDR3 memory, but (most) motherboards will only be built using one or the other (not both). So despite it being compatible with both memory standards, ...

I think the max temperature of those chips is 70, so you want to stay below that. Personnaly, I like staying in the low 50's (full load). Actually it looks like we're both right... According to AMD's processor compare , it may very quite a bit depending on what stepping and version you have... ADA3...

DANG, that's crazy. I remember just two years ago we were all pumped about breaking 1000MHz on DDR2!
If trends hold true, 2GHz DDR3 memory will be very common in a couple years!

I feel the days of cranking up voltage to get super tight timings is coming to an end, but at least DDR3 is able to scale to much higher speeds and offer higher densities than DDR2. People said the same thing when DDR2 came out and guess what we now have 800MHz at 3-3-3-8 timings... DDR3 years down...

Great first look at DDR3! At least early DDR3 performance is about on par with current high-end DDR2, which was not really the case with DDR2 when it first arrived on the scene. Just like with DDR vs. DDR2, it is just going to be a matter of sheer speed with the DDR3 that offers performance improvem...

Oh wow, that's awesome man, nicely done! =D> I find it very interesting to see how much the 2900XT gains back at the higher resolution! And just seeing the performance difference between some of those benchmarks due to drivers gives me hope that they just need to tweak some software in order to get ...

How ironic would it be if the Phemon chips bomb considering the name came from phenomenal? HAHA, somehow I doubt they will be that bad. It would take a lot for them to bomb, and I don't think (or at least I hope that) AMD would not release something that was a completely terrible product. However, ...

I understand all 8800 cards are going to have the same basic image quality, but that's not what I was getting at. I was referring to the fact that there may have easily been differences in the default settings between the nVidia and AMD/ATI drivers and that could be cause for an unfair difference in...

Very interesting situation you have uncovered there Nate! As for your articles, I'm glad you took the time to compare two high-end DX10 capable video cards, qualitatively and quantitatively, but I am having a hard time with your conclusions. Like santiagodraco mentioned, you are comparing a ~$...

Good lord Bio-Hazard, that is definately an amazing chip ya got there!!! As for how it compares to an E6400 clock for clock, the difference is so negligible that I don't think it's worth getting in a tissy over. Considering the cost savings of the E4300 over the E6400 and the likely overcloc...

It is not likely that you will be able to get a whole lot of extra overclocking headroom out of that processor, so I doubt watercooling is going to be necessary. A decent air cooling solution should do you just fine for a bit of Socket A overclocking. You can check to see if your processor is unlock...

The Arctic Cooling Accelero X2 has been a pretty popular choice for the X1900 cards. I am using the Evercool VC-RHC on a X1900GT and it works quite well and is prettymuch silent.
