Pretty good, Pentium M has the ability to knock the stuffings out of the A64 4000+ when overclocked, especially the 2.13Ghz one. But for a parents' PC, more than adequate.

It's not a voltage problem...It more to do with the applications that are open at the time when you run the benchmark. Amazingly I experienced the same thing when I loaded the 3DMark 05 demo and MBM5 at the same time. All I had to do was let one finish loading and then run the demo again.

How about you know you're an overclocker if: You know your DRAM timings off by heart. And you can say them backwards too. You have no side panel. You check the weather to determine your day's overclock. Your room's heating is never on. You spend hours trying to get just a few 100 points more in 3DMa...

I don't know if it's just me, but the review seemed really basic. There are no major flaws with the review, but if it was more in-depth it would have been a bit better.

OHHH, iPod this, iPod that - look if you don't REALLY need 20GB of music, then go for a Creative Zen Micro. It's just the right size and looks so gorgeous!! Just like you I was considering an iPod, but then I realised how common it was, how basic it really is compared to other players like the Creat...

Would a Barton be even close to an Athlon 64? Only if it was heavily overclocked. In the UK, there's a specialist OC mag, which recently overclocked an XP-M to 3Ghz. Check outh their website: http://www.custompc.co.uk

I am happy with some aspects of my PC, but the graphics card has to go. I've had all the major NVIDIA cards upto the FX series, but should I go further or try ATI?

A boss is not really going to need a 6600GT is he? Well, I'm not saying there aren't any adult gamers (my dad's crazy at Unreal), but he gonna have other things to do apart from playing games, don't you think? But on the plus side it's better to upgrade to the max rather than going on a budget so yo...

Upgrading my PC - A dilemma

I'm new to these forums, although I do read the reviews and newsletters... Anyway, last year in May, I upgraded to these specs: DFI LanParty NFII Ultra B mobo AMD Athlon XP 2500 and Corsair XMS3200-C2PT 512MB RAM (so I could have headroom to overclock) The problem I have is that although my computer...
