Re: ToughTested Rugged Battery Pack Review

LOL That'd be an interesting test....tossed out the car window at 65MPH...of course then we'd get: What about going 75mph!

I tried to do "common" type drops...falling out of bag, dropping while walking, knocking off desk, etc.

Re: AfterShokz Gamez Bone Conducting Gaming Headphones Revie

That's something I can't say, they didn't cause any with me, but then I'm not overly sensitive to that either. I do get migraines extremely easy, and didn't have any that was caused by these. A few friends that wore them for a couple hours didn't experience any issues with that either.

Re: Which Of These 4 Graphics Cards Is The Best?

I'm running an EVGA 970GTX and love it. Everything runs smoothly at 1080P for 60+FPS, and 30-40FPS for 4K with some tweaking. I did test a 970 vs 290 in the Witcher 3 and GTA V. Both were pretty even, but the 970 was a little faster by like 2-3FPS, not a huge difference to be honest. For the most pa...

Re: Kingston DataTraveler 2000 Encrypted Flash Drive Review

I didn't try to hack into it, however I did talk to Kingston about it, and what I had seen on previous attempts to this type of security / "encryption". Mostly where the keypad was more of an On/Off switch for the USB connection. Kingston said the encryption is built into the memory, so wh...

Re: Expected new build

Nothing wrong with your proposed build.

Avexir memory isn't as well known, because it's in pretty limited quantities and not one of the big name ones, but there's nothing wrong with it. I'd love to get some for my main system, but they don't have red in Raiden :P

Curved Utra-Wide Monitors

Been seeing a lot about the curved ultra-wide monitors lately. Anybody have one and been gaming on it? Some friends have been asking me lately whether to go with the Ultra-Wide or a 4K...just not sure since I don't have experience with the Ultra-Wides...

Re: Skylake Z170 Build - Feedback and Final words.

That depends on the board and how it's configured. The three Z170 boards I've looked at all used the PCIe bus, due to the higher bandwidth. It actually disabled both in some situations if I remember correctly. For example the Gigabyte Z170X-UD5 from the manual The PCIEX4 slot shares bandwidth with t...

Re: Skylake Z170 Build - Feedback and Final words.

Only thing I'd say is becareful of the G.Skill memory, maybe it was the kit I just ordered or the 3200MHz side. One two z170 motherboards it registered as 2666mhz and wouldn't go any higher without locking up. One I was able to get it to go up to 3000MHz, but would get BSOD with memory exception as ...

Re: New prebuilt pc recommendations

Look for one of the new Skylake i5 systems, the integrated video on them is really good now. Sadly though, if you can hold out another month, when Intel releases all the Skylake CPU's that would be better, I doubt he has a need for the enthusiast grade "K" processor. Of course after my exp...

Re: Who is upgrading to Windows 10 today

There are some annoyances with Win 10 I've found, and I only do clean installs for my systems. Privacy stuff turned on by default - nothing really new here, everybody is collecting that data, whether you like it or not. Quick and easy to turn it off if you don't like it Forced updates - for those of...

Who is upgrading to Windows 10 today

Got Windows 10 installed on two tablets, laptop and one of my test desktops. I haven't put it on my gaming desktop yet though, got a few things to finish up before I do that one :) Hope to have all my personal systems onto Win10 Pro by tonight. Then of course I get the fun of doing the wife's laptop...

Yea, a friend of mine has that problem too, gets sick when playing Skyrim unless he moves the camera all the way out...he came over and watched me play The Crew for a bit on my 4K, was WAY too much for him to handle LOL

The camera is set to one position, I think there's a few other modes in game though, I can try them out tonight if you'd like (probably some youtube videos out there). Also believe I saw a camera mod in one of the forums.

Playing Witcher 3

Anybody playing Witcher 3? I had heard the open world was huge, but I wasn't expecting it to be as big as it is... I know there are at least five areas in the game, including the Prologue...I've gotten through the prologue area and into the first big area, after about 30 hours of game time I still h...

Welcome to LR! I was the same way regarding AMD/Intel, at least I was when AMD procs were good alternatives for the most part LOL Not been terribly impressed with some of the latest APU's from AMD...always keeping an eye on them though, maybe they'll return as a good "budget" alternative.

Just got a retail one from Intel for work to test. Will take a look and see if the BT is any better than you experienced.

I have a meeting with Intel on Thursday to discuss the 2nd generation Compute Stick, as well as an Enterprise version :)
