Re: Q6600 overclock on P5KC
Hi, just an update after a lot of faffing about with a Q6600 with a vid of 1.352v I ditched it in favour of a Q6600 with a vid of 1.2625v the original Q6600 was from L750B102 week batch it really was a lazy chip no matter what voltage you put through it and I managed to get hold of a L732A920 week b...

Re: Asus P5KC Pencil mod success!!!
Hi, took your advice and increased vcore a little to 1.35v in bios 1.336v in cpuz having thought about it a little my original vid was 1.325v and even with the pencil mod I am asking the cpu to perform some 35% over stock and I really can't expect it to run at 1.325v now can I!!!! anyhow seems a lit...

Re: Asus P5KC Pencil mod success!!!
Hi, I have read elsewhere on other forums that maybe zero vdroop can be a bad thing and that a little vdroop is necessary and is built in to the motherboard as a failsafe?? even with zero vdroop and a greatly reduced Vcore I find the overclock to be a bit twitchy shall we say, my pc sometimes random...

Asus P5KC Pencil mod success!!!
pencil mod 100% success!!! After several failed attempts I have finally managed to get zero vdroop and also a great reduction in vcore from 1.4875vcore to 1.3250vcore prime 95 stable therefore my faith in pencil mods is greatly increased and after many many hours of varying degrees of pressure and a...

Re: January Forum Drawing - ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 Video Card!
Hi guys, I really really need this card to put my faith back in amd have they got a winner or is it another knee jerk reaction to intels domination and threatened move into the graphics card market?? E6600 overclock dipping my toes!!
Hi, I know that every overclock is different but I was wondering if anyone could help me with the best way to go about overclocking my new rig as this is the first time I have dipped my toes in the intel pond having been an aMD stalwart since the K6 days I just figured amd have lost the plot at the ...

Re: shutdowns...
i would loosen the timings on your memory and drop them down to run slower as these problems are usually memory related as you up the fsb you are also upping the speed of the memory so drop it down using divider options in your bios and maybe up your vcore a notch as your cpu may be needing a voltag...

Re: Opteron Vs. Athlon X2
opterons historically use the best silicon as they are intended for server use and amd can't afford them to break down and are usually clocked at far lower speeds than they are really capable of to make them 100% reliable at quoted clock speeds therefore they are GREAT overclockers and given a choic...

Re: Single VS. Dual core
hope you go well with your dual core but beware there are many benifits associated with dual core but there are a few pitfalls *see 4800+ shutdown problems) my personal opinion is if going dual core make sure you have latest bios update for mobo get dual core optimiser and ms hotfix or if you dont w...

Hi,
can anyone tell me if it is ok to run a ATI x1950pro in an asus A8NSLI Deluxe and any issues that may be associated with running ati hardware in Nvidia motherboards. I am only running a single card so the sli bit should not enter into the equation i hope
