Re: BX2 Issue
Just to update the post and not leave it as an unresolved topic. My second set of memory suffered the same fate a few days later. I now have both sets of memory on their way back to Crucial. They told me that they have recently changed the memory and it no runs at 2.0v instead of 2.2v due to failure...

BX2 Issue
Hey there, It's been a while since I've posted but here we go. 2 days ago my system wouldn't post no beep codes although I had power as the fans, GPU etc were all firing up. After troubleshooting I found that the system would post if I removed one set of RAM (2BG). Anyway all was good as I can to th...

Re: BX2 and 4x1GB Memory
Problem resolved. After more testing it seems my one set of memory was in fact defective so has been RMA'd to Crucial.
Thanks for the help!

Re: BX2 and 4x1GB Memory
I'm running Crucial Ballistix, 5-5-5-12 at 2.2V. My system at the moment is not overclocked as I am trying to troubleshoot this memory BSOD issue.

BX2 and 4x1GB Memory
Is anyone having any issues running 4 x 1GB? I seem to get BSOD's when I run a total of 4GB both in XP and Vista. When using 2 x 1GB I never get a single crash. I am currently running memory tests on both pairs to check for any stability issues but as they have passed everything so far I am thinking...

Re: Latest D975XBX2 Bios and Overclocking
Oh no I can see the BIOS fine just when I try to go over 2.66 GHz or try and boot on 1:1 timings I get a bad boot (black screen) which I can easily recover from by changing the jumper position or sometimes by a full power down/unplug.

Re: Latest D975XBX2 Bios and Overclocking
No I haven't done either as of yet. Dropping 2 sticks is an idea I was going to try however the BIOS is a diff story as I have no clue what I was running before as it was the stock BIOS with the board. I kicked myself as it was updating for not writing it down. Anyway I'll keep you posted how I get ...

Re: Latest D975XBX2 Bios and Overclocking
Watchdog, C1E and EIST are all off. Anything over 2.66 GHZ and I get a black screen and no boot. It's very weird as I have had 3.2 GHz with ease in the past!

Yeah it's weird to say the least. I've just reset the BIOS back to its defaults so I'll try another OC tonight.

Latest D975XBX2 Bios and Overclocking
Hey Guys,
Just a quick question. Has anyone had any problems overclocking in the latest Bios revision? I can't seem to get my Q6600 over 2.66 GHZ after updating the bios and installing Vista Ultimate.
Thanks.........!

Here is a good starter guide to overclocking the BX2 http://forums.legitreviews.com/about10826.html
Getting 3.0GHZ should be a breeze! Just remember to take it slowly.

Re: BX2 and Nvidia 8800GT
Ok, one of the guys over at EVGA said that it will be fine because it has the 8 pin supplemental power connector which offsets the fact that it's running PCI-E 1.0a.
I would still like to hear from someone who is running this setup though...

Re: BX2 and Nvidia 8800GT
I know it's madness! If I have to go by a DX38BT just to run a 8800GT I'm not going to be happy. Anyway maybe someone has a solid answer for us as.

Re: BX2 and Nvidia 8800GT
Thats what you would think.
There are big issues at the moment with the 8800GT not been compatible with some motherboards, mainly the ones running the 1.0 (1.0a) Basically the backwards compatibility works as follows: PCI-E 2.0 cards will run on PCI-E 1.1 slots, but not on all PCI-1.0a slots.

BX2 and Nvidia 8800GT
Hey all,
Is anyone running the new 8800GT with the Intel 975XBX2 board? I hear there may be some issues with the PCi express slots only been 1.0 and not 1.1.
Any info would be great!

Re: BX2 Mobo & Zalman 9500
Well as it seem you can plug the 3 pin connector from the Zalman fan into the 4 pin CPU fan slot and everything works fine.

BX2 Mobo & Zalman 9500
Hey Guys,
How are you plugging in your Zalman CPU coolers into the BX2 motherboard? The Zalman requires a 4 pin plug in and the CPU fan plug in on the BX2 is a 3 pin. Are you just using a 3 pin fan plug in (rear fan for example)?
Thanks!
