Re: Is AMD Really a Sinking Ship? AMD Phenom Is Around The Bend

Duke3d87, Thanks for the post as I love to hear what our readers think and where they are coming from. I wish I was able to touch on more things in the article, but time didn't allow it. Too many things in the works right now, so I posted what I had already written to see what people are thinking. ...

Re: Duke's Mods

almost two years later i have a different pc: http://i14.tinypic.com/4tk2moi.jpg i've posted it at several places, but i saw this old thread and thought that i might as well update P182B 3x250 GB WD RAID 0 120 GB Maxtor HD Opteron 165 @ 2.7 GHz (now if i could get it to reboot at 2.7 that'd be swell...

Re: Is AMD Really a Sinking Ship? AMD Phenom Is Around The Bend

Both of these shifts in the industry happened before everyone wrote a blog or had a website, so maybe everyone has just forgotten the past or just wasn’t involved in the tech industry just a few years ago. It’s a shame really, as not only should the past must be remembered, it’s a critical part of ...

AIW X800XT Thermal Paste

Ya, so I have the AIW X800XT, and it runs slightly warm (that's an understatement BTW). The ram hits 165 F on load, and i'm a bit worried about it. I know the AIW X800XTs can handle up to 127 C, but i want my card to live past two years. So, i'm looking for a better fan for it. Thinking about going ...

EVGA / BFG with their lifetime warranties now look soo good... i believe that lifetime is for as long as the cards are in production. once they discontinue them their lifetime is over. i may be wrong but thats what i have heard. I don't think so. My friends FX5700 died, and he mailed it back to BFG...

It's now coming to light that in fact older LGA775 865 0r 875 chipset boards actually support dual core processors. It's interesting that you mention that. I read it a few months ago, but there are no manufacturers that flat out say that. If i could get confirmation that it did support Dual core pr...

That means i have to cut holes pretty quickly, yet be accurate...hoping this goes well. No pics as of yet cause my sister ha...

Duke's Mods

Yeah, so i'm modding my skyhawk Aluminum case. My plans are as follows: Install a 120mm fan on the right side panel, two on the left, and one at the back... Install dual 92mm fans on the front of the case and one on the left side... i bought a BlackIceXtreme2 and will install that at the top with fo...

Gigabyte has something simiilar except for PCs. There are four dimm slots and you can install up to 4 GB of ram in there. The card connects to the motherboard via. a SATA cable, and has a backup battery for when you unplug your PC that lasts around a day (there are conflicting reports about how long...

I don't think so. I think it is because for the first time, the Pentium-M chip can be used without having to spend $200 on a motherboard; you can just buy the adaptor and pop it into an Asus board. It's like using the AthlonXP-M in a desktop PC, you can get a lot more performance out of it by overcl...

I think said this earlier, I was impressed by your review, I have yet to see a review on overclocking dual core processors in debt. Also, tomshardware only focuses on overclocking via the multi, and with the dual core, i prefer ocing via the FSB.

I hear that the ATI version can use up to 32 graphics cards while the nVidia version can do do. I'm not sure if that's true, but that's what i hear. Gigabyte is working on a SLI board that can have four GPUs crunching away at the same time.

We talked about this on XFN and i think it would work on the 945 if i remember correctly. It will be a LGA775 CPU. The problem is the relatively low clock speed of the Yonah although it should still perform extremely well.
