Hi,
I would like to enter this contest, however, I must disclose that I'm not a resident on the US. But had to post this anyways, since this machine got me
I hope the winner enjoys this to its full extent.

Gian.
Amazon's 30-day period has already expired, and I understand that they can't do anything. However, before the expiration, I could replace the psu with the corsair, and I did all the tests that rendered all the hardware pieces in good condition. But now, the period has expired, and I ended up strange...
Before sending them the email, I tried calling them and was completely lost in the auditive point of view. Also, it's true that they would attend you more by phone, but I'm hoping that Nate could tell them something, so that Ibuypower could attend me by email or chat. But I don't know if that will h...
I still think the motherboard is dead. I've had boards go before when you turned the computer on the fans would spin for 5 seconds then turn off. Another thing you could try is flipping the power switch on the power supply and hold down the power button for 10 seconds to drain residual electricity....
That's nice. Can you also post your results without the cpu overclocking, so as to measure the cpu speed scaling here with the 5970. What is the performance difference between CPU OC and no CPU OC?
The corsair psu I got is supposed to be always operating at 81% efficiency or more, and 450x.81= 364.5. This is above the recommended wattage, although is close. But I wonder why the difference with respect to tom's actual power results are huge. actually it works the other way around, 450 is 80% o...
Thanks for your pm. I will write Nate after this post. My friend has a psu of 800W, but it's an agiler brand, kind of generic, but it was enough wattage to do all the tests that I posted. Also, he has got that psu for more than 6 months with an i7 processor, an ati 5770, and 6 GB DDR3, so this fact ...
Remember that, as was said in a previous post, after the generic supply emitted the burning smell, I took all the components to a friend to test if the psu fried other pieces, and everything was fine. He tested my motherboard with his processor, ram mem and video card, and it was even prime95 stable...
100% sure Edit: After so much googling, some people said that this issue has got to do with a bad power button. This is not the case, since I tried with the power button of my old thermaltake case which I know was working, and the issue persists. Also, some others said that this could be caused by s...
Ok, following the general consensus here, I finally bought the Corsair cmpsu VX450. When I replace the generic psu with this one, and try to start the machine, something is not right. When I push the on button, it takes like 3 seconds for the power to reach the mobo, and then, the only thing that ha...
Ok this is what happened. Ibuypower never honored their warranty and did not help me to replace the power supply. However, since I purchased the system through Amazon, they did respond, and offered me a refund of $160, via a claim code. I managed to sell it, so I can buy the power supply locally and...
Thanks everyone for your suggestions regarding the PSU I need. I just received an unexpected response from Ibuypower. They explained that they could maybe send a replacement PSU as an RMA, but I explained them that it does not make sense to send me the same PSU. I need a branded PSU with the minimum...
I have severe hearing loss and can't call them, but I left them an email and am awaiting for response. Meanwhile, I've been looking at the local market, and collected the immediately affordable PSUs for my present budget. I listed them, and if you can see that any of them is good enough for the afor...
In Venezuela we run at 110V, and when I started the system, the PSU switch was set to 115V. Also, I had this connected to a TrippLite voltage regulator, model VR1209R.
The PSU died. Your concerns just came out true, and faster than I thought. I turned the system on for the first time, and did some tests to see if it could handle some gaming, did tests like prime95 (only for 2 min) and furmark, and everything went fine. I used the system for 3 hours with total stab...
It does not have any UL number in it. I have attached a photo of this PSU, though it looks kind of far. I don't know of this helps, but here I post the detailed specs regarding amperage distributions: +3.3V: 24A +5V: 15A +12V1: 17A +12V2: 18A -12V: 0.3A +5Vsb: 2.5 +3.3V and 5V MAX: 120W Max Power: 4...
By your replies it seems that there is really a significant chance that I would have permanent hardware damage with this PSU while gaming. I found in the local market (for a reasonable price) the Thermaltake Purepower W0329RU 450 Watts. Is this PSU decent enough, or still a risk? If not, I also got ...
the PSU should be fine for light use like web browsing/youtube, but before you start overclocking/benchmarking/games or stress tests i'd pick up at least a 600W+ Corsair/OCZ/antec/thermaltake etc. known brand unit at least, my preference is to Corsair personally (and i would trust a corsair 400W ov...
