If so, yes, the biggest single-component-upgrade-performance-boost would be the graphics card.

Dan
It is pcie, so would the 8800 gt be advisable or would a different card be better?

To Upgrade or not?

I am considering upgrading my graphics card. Currently my system specs are: AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 Asus A8R32-MVP deluxe 2 gb of DDR dual channel ATI x1800 GTO Now I was thinking since I am a college student I can't really afford a complete upgrade until I graduate (in another two years) so I was consi...

Re: Pentagon tells Bush: climate change will destroy us

The only ugly things on this earth are man made! i couldn't agree more! i do like my monitor, though It isn't entirely true. Some of the most toxic chemicals known to man are natural. That being said human civilization reminds me a lot like bacteria growing on an agar plate. They grow until their o...

There is no way any guy would put up with that crap, so she isn't going to be married, or never happily married, so what's going to happen when her parents kick the bucket? Dan What happens when she gets out of high school? She can't get a job, her family can't do everything for her forever. What w...

Re: Mississippi Law: “No Fat People Allowed”

You don't make obesity go away by not letting people eat in restraunts. If you are going to limit people's freedom because obesity is bad for society or whatever how about we make foods that are unhealthy expensive and make smaller food proportions cheaper so that we pressure people to eat healthy a...

Re: Intel Socket question.

Well the socket doesn't change its the VRMs on the board or the chipset change that usually renders your board useless for the next generation. Its part of the game. Yeah... always been the same socket, but higher FSBs and changing voltage requirements have caused problems on some older boards, if ...

Re: Polaroid Stops Making Instant Film

Actually, the early polaroids didn't have a plastic film over them, the shaking was to dry the developer, and then they had a little spongebar/squeege to apply a sealer (varnish?? shellac?? something with a real strong smelling solvent) I have a few family photo polariods from the late 50's early 6...

Re: WARF is suing Intel

Intel is a huge corporation, but with a tech like this it may be really easy to prove WARF's case because I doubt if Intel stole it they changed it any if at all. Intel will probably try and reach an out of court settlement, unless WARF really wants to push it through to court. An out of court settl...

Re: Polaroid Stops Making Instant Film

I never liked polaroid pictures. They fade faster, and you can't reprint them... You know those brown strips you get with your 35mm film? yeah, you can take that to the nearest film developer anytime you want and get reprints! My mother has all of her negatives stored in her safety deposit box just...

Intel Socket question.

Well I am planning on upgrading, but not for a few months, and I am finally switching to intel. My largest complaint with AMD is that they are always changing their socket type, but if I make this next upgrade I want to make sure I have some upgrading room with the Intel Socket type. Is there any re...

i really wish they explained what and where the beast came from. i understand why they did not(part 2) but a little insight would of helped the story. my guess is the beast is the first in a invasion of earth by aliens. the monster is the troop carrier for the aliens which can be seen as they jump ...

If you play on 24/7 2 fort maps rounds usually last extremely long since the engees get dug in and half of each team are engaged in sniper wars.

3 hours though? that is insane
