Re: Is Your Linksys SD2008 Switch Overheating?

I've purchased several SLM2008 switches (the same thing as the SD2008, but with an integrated web management interface) to be used at my workplace. In 6 months, I had 5 of 8 fail. They would stop routing packets, and when reset, they would not respond at all. All of them seem to run pretty warm. Eve...

Re: Which Motherboard for Windows Server 2008 (x64)

I've had good luck so far using drivers for x64 Vista for Server 2008, if there are no Server drivers. They seem to work fine, as long as they're signed (but then, all x64 vista drivers must be). If your mobo mfg has x64 vista drivers, you should be ok.

Re: black edition ?

i've got a 5000+BE running at 15.5x200 with a Zalman 9500 - it works great at 3100MHz, at any rate. My mobo doesn't allow me to adjust the voltages for the cpu or ram, and i can't get the processor to run reliably above 15.5x200 at 1.3v, but it doesn't seem to overheat - it just doesn't want to cloc...

Re: Micro ATX boards

Just a little update - I decided I'd wait on the 790-based board, seeing as how the 780s are just around the corner. I picked up a Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H and a 5000+ BE, Zalman 9500, 4GB of Patriot DDR2-800 (5-5-5-15) and threw it into an NZXT Rogue. The setup works well, though the Gigabyte's not w...

Re: Micro ATX boards

Yeah, the system is running an evga 8600GT 512MB in it right now - I don't know how the stock graphics perform, though I imagine they're quite acceptable for non-gaming. for power, it has a Cooler Master Real Power Pro RS-650 power supply - 80+ performance and 5 year warranty. This is all mounted in...

GA-MA770-DS3 Experiences?

I'm getting ready to replace an old P4 with an AMD setup - I'm planning on going with the GA-MA770-DS3 board, and I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with it? I'm going to be running a 5000+ BE. Suggestions as to which cooler worked on your rig would be helpful, too.

Cheers,

Re: Micro ATX boards

I've got a Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H - pretty decent for a microATX. It's only socket AM2, not AM2+, though. I'm not running anything fancy in mine (well, my girlfriend's, actually) - 5600+, 2GB of DDR2-800. It works pretty well. A fair number of ports, and the BIOS has some decent options for tweaking...
