how else can you get a good connection on a mobile thing like a bus http://www.clearwire.com/store/what_overview.htm for wireless service. I spent time in florida today around the Jacksonville area and they had service up there, which was good. Interesting to me because I didn't know broadband went...

I have a Falcon-NW going on 4 years. They do charge tons of overhead, but overally I am thoroughly satisfied with what I got because their warranty is pretty good, I had 3 yrs of good warranties and had to use it 2 times for me fiddling around and they were surprisingly understanding, good CS at lea...

I have found one difference in San Diego vs. Venice and that is power consumption. According to Monarch, the Venice uses 67W vs. 89W to the San Diego. But the reason why this interests me is why do they rate the San Diego 3700+ vs 3500+ if its identical except for the cache size and power usage? Cac...

To be honest I guess I am just an old fashion AMD Fanboy. I just think Intel's, you are paying more for a name, then AMD. They always seem to be bit more pricier and AMD has just suited me for games and the slight edits I do. As far as to me posting the 3 CPUS in my previous post, I was just showing...

A new possibility has arised... AMD 64 3800+ Venice Core is $375, AMD 64 3700+ San Diego Core is $329, AMD 64 3500+ Venice Core is $288, all are Retail, not OEM. Venice cores are the same except the 3800+ is 2.4GHz vs. the 3500+ is 2.2GHz. San Diego core is 3700+ is 2.2GHz but has 1MB of L2 cache......

Antec will shortly be releasing their Phantom 500, a very quiet 500W PSU that picks up where the highly rated Phantom 350 left off. I don't advocate totally fanless as heat is our enemy, but their are options out there that are almost as quiet and which do a great job. Actually it's at ZZF already ...

Looking forward to your recommend list. But it seems I didn't look at the post dates, or read everything before I posted. Oh well. Yeh poor Newegg. I use to mod my old Falcon-NW with parts from them over the last 4 years but over the last 18months I have converted to ZZF. Also JMT, just curious on h...

Re: First Time System Build
I plan on building my system the end of this month. I should have the funds to purchase the parts by then. I'm thinking that NewEgg would be my best bet for buying said parts. I might be late on the gun, but I too have been looking at building a system, and I too, am new to it. But I have used Newe...

Hehe, I know DFI is the board of ethuists, and it is showing. Yeh, playing with the fan housing seems a bit tricky, because I am new to this, and heh it seems if i screw up, I am out a few hundred dollars. :P But like I said, I still have plnety of time to decide, just more time to decide...

You have to applaud DFI for putting so much effort and care into the smallest details of this board. One issue I did have was installing my 6600GT into the x16 PCI-E slot. Once installed, the card sat pretty firmly on the fan housing, causing it to sit at an angle. I tried a different card (RX600 P...

Ok, I found MSI's board to be actually $1 cheaper than ASUS's board! So I'll probably go down that route, but I am still looking at DFI, and I am very impressed with all except that one minor flaw, which isn't big, and that is the fan they put on the board sits under a 6600-6800 video card because i...

ok I got a good view of what I plan to get but have few more questions that popped up as I was looking at prices. One is the Maxtor HDs. What makes Maxline III better then Diamond 10s? Both has the same cache size, 16MB, seek times, and NCQ, just one is 5yr warranty vs 3yr. and priced differently, o...

Ok I am pretty sold on the 3500+ for a cpu so far because I am seeing it stands above the 3200 rather well and is good until compared to the 4000+ so it seems like a good intermediary in performance. Yeah, twin Maxtors is what I also plan to go for it looks like also. But I have heard some mixed rev...

Thanks a lot so far Capper and Infinite. The RAM looks pretty solid and I think I will go for the CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 4400C25PT but I think I heard somewhere AMD boards don't support or use dual channel ram? Not sure about this fact. As far as cpu's, yeah I plan to go either with the 3200+ o...

Would This Work? (New to the forums and hobby)
Hi I am new to these forums but believe this to be a good place to start asking questions on my first attempt to build a system. I have never done much to computer hardware but I have done minor upgrades to my aging system, which is: Falcon-NW- Asus A7N8X mobo AMD 2400+ 1.8ghz Nvidia 4200Ti 64mb, wh...
