I pop in from time to time, but haven't posted in ages. Just got finished adding some links. Since this list is posted on a few different forums, what I generally do is periodically update a master list I have saved on my PC, then copy paste to each forum. In addition to recommending sites, if anyon...

As a rule, I never use a air cooler unless it's for a review and as soon as the review is over, it's back to water. Water only in my house, IMHO, it's the only way to cool a OC'd CPU and GPU............ Even for non-OC'd rigs, a compelling argument can be made for a water cooling setup. The...

unfortunatelly I think you made a pretty bad choice choosing this cooler. it isn't better then the stock cooler[...] http://www.hardwarelogic.com/news/62/ARTICLE/1107/2006-02-01.html systemcooling.com Also done a review and it beats the stock cooler by ~6C when used with AS5 and the fan @ full spee...

With regards to video cards BFG, eVGA, and XFX have true lifetime warranties. PNY is the one with a goofy definition of what constitutes a 'lifetime.'

I was involved in a recent discussion about this on another forum and in my opinion, it's an exicting innovation in a largely overlooked area (keyboards). Between the Optimus concept, the lackluster looking 205 Pro from UnitedKeys that's currently available, and IKeyInvinity's version that is a work...

I saw that a week or so ago and inquired at BFG whether theirs was the same, regardless of not being in writing (and suggested that they put it in writing if my assumption was correct). Part of the email response I got from them was: I'll forward that request over to our marketing team to make sure ...

I would get 2x1gb sticks. That gives him future expandability with the remaining two empty slots. From a performance standpoint, he also wouldn't have to worry about dropping down to a 2t command rate, as is necessary on four sticks of double sided RAM. For specific recommendations, I also would poi...

BF2 is a RAM hog. Generally speaking though, 2gb is not going to come into play all that often (there are certainly exceptions, depending on what a particular user runs). With respect to overclocking, it's something to take into consideration if he plans on OCing his FX-53, or already does. However,...

are they matched? because if not, I would go with the rev. 2 and get 2-2-2-5 timings. The Revision 2 doesn't come in 2gb kits (2x1gb), so he'd need to buy two kits and run 4x512mb. If going that route, it'd be simplier to just pick up another kit of Kingston's TCCDs (though I highly favor OCZ mysel...

OCZ Platinum PC3200 2gb kit 2-3-2-5 - $239 shipped (after $30 mail-in-rebate)

The rebate is good until Sept 11. It's a pretty attractive price for what you're getting. Sell your coveted TCCD sticks and it brings the price down even further.

Same here - and for those who have never heard of Meijer, it's basically mid-west version/competitor of Wal-Mart.

I use a combination of >90% isopropyl rubbing alcohol (available everywhere) and q-tips when cleaning my heatsinks. I generally alternate between damp and dry q-tips and keep repeating until no more gunk is visible on the cotton. At that point, I give it a final buff and it's good to go. GooGone is ...

Any particular reason for wanting a same-socket mobo upgrade at this point? That $100-$150 is going to result in nominal real world performance differences as opposed to applying those funds to other areas of your system (bigger, faster hard drive, updated graphics card, etc). In any event, I'd look...

My Monopoly Bathroom Pics...

Whenever I'm at the store (Meijers - a midwest thing), I always see a bunch of novelty Monopoly bathroom items. I recently moved to a new place, so it gave me an excuse to redecorate and go with the new theme. Tacky? Sure. Do I care? Nope. :D The rug http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v220/One4yu2c/M...
