Wow, it has been quite a while since I tread these waters. Winning this would be a great reintroduction to these crazy forums.

Re: A newbie question about setting up CrossfireX
As far as I know, the crossfire connector from the older card should work just fine. As long as it fits the connector it should be fine. Is there some setting within the catalyst control application where you need to activate the crossfire? I have not used a crossfire setup myself, but an SLI setup ...

Re: HD4850 and OpenGL
As far as I know, the newest Catalyst driver should definitely support any OpenGL application. Have you checked for any available patches or updates to X-plane? Try updating all of your software and hardware with the latest drivers and updates, perhaps it isn't your graphics card.

Re: Where is my audio ATI?
Open your device manager and make sure your audio hardware doesn't have a yellow exclamation mark next to it. Try downloading the drivers for your sound and reinstalling them. Also, are you using on-board audio or a dedicated sound card?

Re: Nvidia said to be quitting chipset business
Good! Its very strange, but there seems to be a large contingent of Nvida chipset haters out there. I simply do not understand where they're coming from. I started out on a VIA chipset, then upgraded to an Intel, which was really nice, but the last two nvidia chipsets have been even better. I just do...

Re: Fake BSOD
The best luck I've had against really tough virus' is to find where they're located on the hard drive and manually change their file type, it renders them completely useless and will enable you to delete them. The tricky part is usually tracking them down. Once I find them I rename them to something...

Yeah, fantastic show. His 'interrogation' of the Joker was nice and brutal, though.

Re: The Dark Knight rules
I doubt this issue with Bale and his family will amount to much, at least I hope it won't. He is a fantastic actor. I just saw the Dark Knight yesterday; unbelievably awesome. I do have one minor, minor quip with it, and I'm curious if anyone else noticed it. It seemed as if the hand-to-hand combat ...

Power Supply question
Has anyone here had any experience with ABS Tagan Power supplies? I was just browsing through Newegg and saw this one; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817814013 I like the modular design with the screw-on cables. It seems as if it has pretty nice features for the price as well....

Re: Why are we obssessed with this?
I couldn't agree more, my friend. Isn't it crazy how people in this country are so afraid of offending people, specifically in regards to 'taboo' subjects? Seriously, the truth is the TRUTH! People's desires or ambitions do not change certain facts. Let it be known that I am no longer human; I am a ...

Re: Muppet Wiki
I've tried so many times to get over it, but Muppets ignite a primal fear within the core of my being. There is something terrifying about their hollow eyes and vacant bodies that, by all appearances, should be nothing more than an inanimate pile of fabric and plastic. Yet they live. By some...

Re: New future build, comments, OCable quadcore, many questions.
It seems that the Antec Nine Hundred has its drive bays pretty much built in, and the fan bracket inside further lessens space, so D: - P180 for me I suppose? I had an 8800GT in an Antec 900 and it was pretty dang tight. I wouldn't try to squeeze a 10.5" card it there, it most likely won't fit.

But Gore had scientists to back him up, he was just the mouthpiece Good point. All of these dilemmas are excruciatingly frustrating to me. Our country has become so fragmented due to politics, religion, gender preference, etc. that nothing can be accomplished. I'm really saddened by how un-patrioti...

Re: The Energy Non-Crisis
but when I saw the words "Baptist Minister" earlier in the thread, the video immediately lost all credibility with me. Baptist minsters are not experts on energy production, no matter how "provocative" they are. Based upon your train of logic, I'd say that the same could be appl...

Re: HD2900XT 512mb problem or not?
Try installing a spare video card and see if it does the same thing. If you are able to get into windows with the spare card, uninstall the video drivers and make sure the correct ones were downloaded. Then try the problematic video card and see if you can make it into windows to install the correct...
